Fishing trip - Brilliant experience. Knowledge guide in Edier and great captain. Ceviche was amazing and the fishing was fun. Amazing place to do it.

Fishing Adventure in Holbox, QR Mexico - Eric and Eddie, guides started us bottom fishing using traditional hand line and cut bait method. caught lots of fish within the fish hour. They also accommodated my stated preferred method of fly fishing. They however stated the area we are in as well as the season is not considered ideal for fly fishing. We moved closer inshore to an area where there's a chance for catching fish using flies. I was able to get a strike but failed to hook a good size fish. Never the less the experience was both exciting and satisfying. Both Eddie and Eric prepared Ceviche we all enjoyed! I highly recommend this outfitter if you are visiting Holbox.

Best day on Holbox :) - Willy and Pablo were just amazing! Willy was so knowledgeable and kind. Pablo made incredible ceviche and captained the boat perfectly. The fishing was so fun and exciting. It was our best day in Holbox and every time I am on this island I will want to do this. I will dream about the ceviche for a very long time :)

Great fishing with Eric and Eddy - 3 of us went on a fishing tour with Eddy and Eric, both great guys who knew their stuff. Bare in mind the fishing is not done with rods, you use only a line with bait and hook on the end, at first we were worried but it turned out to be a great way to fish, very unique and traditional. The two guys are happy to answer any questions and love a bit of craic. They're also very conscious of the environment and clearly love the land and treat it with respect which is great. Definitely recommend the trip, the ceviche made with fish we caught is the perfect way to to finish the trip.

3rd Time - Always Fantastic! - My husband and I have taken half day fishing tours with VIP Holbox three times over four years - the first two trips were just the two of us, and our most recent trip was with 6 friends. Obviously we love this tour! We always go back to VIP Holbox and go fishing with Eddie, who was born and raised on Holbox and is an excellent guide. It’s so beautiful and fun to be out on the water and fishing with hand lines. This time, we caught grouper, snapper, a shark (whoops), a Queen parrot fish, and more, then had the most delicious ceviche prepared by Eddie and Willy. We can’t recommend this tour enough for experienced fishermen and newbies alike.

Fishing and ceviche to die for - Eddie and Willy made our trip. We had so much fun catching a huge number of different types of fish, then they fixed us the most amazing fresh ceviche. This is the 3rd time we’ve been out with them and each time is better than the last. Highly recommend!!!

A truly excellent experience - My partner, father, and I went out with our guides on a Sunday morning and had a fantastic time. Willy is so knowledgeable and passionate about the conservation, history, and ecology of Holbox, while Edier knows the waterways like the back of his hand. The ceviche that resulted from the catches of the day was a pure joy to eat. It was a truly excellent experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to repeat it, let alone recommend it to someone else. 10/10!

A VIP Experience in Every Way - This is the 4th trip with Willy and his staff. Our fishing experience with Edy was absolutely outstanding! Edy is always very accommodating to our every need. Thank you for such a great time. Couldn't imagine any other tour group could outdo Willy and his VIP crew. Captain Edy was superb. Can't wait to see you next year!

Great day on the water! - Was a great day ok the water, caught fish, made fresh ceviche on the beach. Good weather and good food, ended at Cabo catouche for lunch before heading back. Would recommend!

Don't bother. - Out of the five hours we were out on the boat, we fished for maybe 45-60 minutes. Most of the time was spent getting to the spots. We spent about an hour getting to the first spot where we fished(with a spool of line and a hook) for about 15 minutes. No luck. The guide then decided to try another spot that took another lengthy ride to get to and we fished for approx 30 minutes. No luck. Again off to another spot for another 15 minutes-maybe-of fishing. No luck. He then decided it was time for the beach and ceviche. We were taken to a beach for ceviche where my wife had to pay to use a restroom that was disgusting. We sat there for about 45 minutes and were then loaded back up to go back. We asked if we could do some more fishing and were told we could not. I do not fault our guide for not catching a fish, he can't control the fish. What I do find fault with was the way the trip was run. We were out for five hours and fished for an hour at most. I don't know if it was because the areas we are allowed to fish or the guides desire to go to a certain beach, but the long rides to the fishing spots used up most of our time. The fishing with a spool of line and a hook, I also found substandard. Our guide was nice and we were provided Cokes, water and ceviche but the trip was a major disappointment. We essentially paid for a 5 hour boat ride. In my opinion, your money and time would be better spent elsewhere.
