100% worth doing - This trip was the best one of our cruise. The tour guide was great, the lagoon was fresh water and BEAUTIFUL! They thought about safety first and since winds were under we kayaked but only a small one. Drinks and food were awesome!

Best excursion of our cruise - I had an amazing time kayaking at the Bacalar Lagoon. The lagoon and the resort is beautiful. The company is conscientious of the cruise schedule and makes sure to have you back on time. Alan was our tour guide and he was awesome. Everyone was patient, happy and helpful throughout the excursion. The drinks were strong and the tacos were delicious.

Dream-like experience - I'm hesitant to share what an amazing time we had because if we want to come back I don't want to let the secret out! Everything was absolutely amazing and we were lucky to be 4 of only 19 people at the lagoon on this particular day so it felt like we had a slice of paradise to ourselves. Everyone in our small group said they felt like they were living a dream. Eliot was an incredible host and all the other staff at the resort were so friendly! The drive is peaceful but definitely bouncy and "off the beaten" path but so worth the hour in the van. Would absolutely return if we were in the area again.

Alan & Miguel were... - Alan & Miguel were absolutely incredible. We celebrated my dad’s 75th birthday and they even did a special treat and sang to him. Their Mexican lunch buffet was amazing and the free drinks were poured strong. What a beautiful paradise!!

Great tour, minor logistical issue - Fantastic location and staff. The food and drinks were delicious. The only issue was were we unwittingly sent with a group going to the Mayan ruins so we lost out on about 45minutes of time that could have been spent at the lagoon as we booked. This also happened to another couple that was with us on the same tour.

Bacalar kayak - I recommend the Bacalar lagoon kayaking trip. The group was small and the guide let us establish a comfortable route and pace. It does not go far (across the lake and back) but that was adequate. The water's blues and greens were beautiful. My only suggestion is that the guide could spend more time adjusting the seats for each kayaker for a better fit, and provide some basic kayaking instructions to better help the newbies. The van ride to the Lake, small resort location, kayaking and served lunch were excellent.

So so - When you are not given the name of the tour operator it is hard know where to go. Plus no idea it was an hour drive to an abandoned resort. I would want more organized tour

A long drive for a short excursion - We did enjoy the ruins and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. We didn't have a lot of time that day and I felt like we had to drive a lot for such a short tour. The tour started at 8:00 am and the ship left at 2:30. It was a long drive to the ruins, which we kind of expected, but after the ruins, we went to the lagoon and the drive there was rough. We were on the bus on a very bumpy long dirt road for about 30 minutes. We only had about an hour for lunch and swimming before we had to head back, which was another hour back to the ship. The tour was fine, but I felt like we did more driving than enjoying the beach.

7 Color Lagoon - The resort was very nice & people there very friendly & helpful. Kayaking was disappointing. Only about 20 minutes. Food & drinks were good. Would have liked more time to kayak. A little rushed. Colors were not really visible due to overcast skies.

Bad Experience - Unfortunately there were none. None of the excursion/tour providers could find our reservation at the meeting point. So we were unable to go. Have never had a problem with Viator but did this time.
