Come on a journey with us into the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasting one of the greatest ecological diversities with its tropical woodlands, mangroves, marshland, plains, and seashores.
We’ll explore this significantly ecologically varied area by boat, traversing the mangrove waterways once frequented by ancient Maya merchants. Look out for creatures like jaguars, pumas, ocelots, howler monkeys, tapirs, a myriad of avian species, and an assortment of marine life, including sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, and various species of fish.
Starting from Punta Allen, a lobster fishing village nestled deep within the reserve, we’ll commence a coral reef snorkeling adventure, relish a home-cooked meal made by the local people, and have some downtime to unwind and saunter around the village.
