Highlights
  • Yalahau Lagoon - Just 30 minutes by boat from Holbox is the Yalahau Cenote (Ojo de Agua), a place with fresh waters that, according to legends, have strange properties, as they say that when submerged in them, people will feel as if they had 10 years less.
Ojo de agua is a large natural pool where fresh water flows, surrounded by plants, trees and shrubs, which you can see from the highest point of the viewpoint located here.
  • Isla De La Pasion - Isla Pasión is a small islet that is 10 minutes from Holbox by boat. It is said that it was the corner of lovers and hence the name. It is the ideal place to enjoy virgin beaches, the sun and the sea; for its calm atmosphere and its tropical adventure space, far from civilization.
  • Isla Pajaros - One of the most beautiful and peaceful places that surround Holbox is Isla Pajaros, just 30 minutes away and where you can observe the great variety of birds that inhabit it, many in danger of extinction, for which spaces have been placed dedicated to its protection and conservation. Among the species that you will admire are flamingos, pelicans, ducks and others, all of them in their natural environment and without ties because they are in total freedom.

Organized fun in nature - The guide dropped off a wetsuit at my hotel the day before our trip. The wetsuit was clean and dry. His team picked up all participants in a 4 x 4 just before 4am (pick-up time depends on moon cycle). The seventeen early birds in our group stopped at the gear site to view the “moon set”, got the rest our gear (snorkel, mask, water shoes), and walked out to the lagoon. Our guide used his “Luke Skywalker Light Saber” to point out constellations, and then we continued on our way. The walk was flat and maybe half to three quarters of a mile round trip. The bioluminescence was cool and I was glad to have worn the wetsuit. It would have been a bit cold without it and it also helps protect you from mosquitoes (which weren’t bad at all in April). We left gear at the gear site and wore our wetsuits back to our hotels as we rode the 4 by 4s. We were asked to leave the wetsuit at the front office of our hotels. Well organized, clean gear, content presented in both Spanish and English, and safe! Don’t bring anything with you - you don’t need it and will be asked to leave it behind at the gear site. The locals also said this was an excellent tour guide/group!

Nice day out! - Fun day out and great to see each of the 3 places but would have loved a bit more info about each of the islands as our guide didn’t speak much English. Overall good value for money

. - It is an incredible tour, we did not get to see turtles, dolphins, flamingos and we had a great time. The captain and the guide served us super well, I did not believe what I had read about the ceviche that was great until I tried it and I could buy it, the ceviche is the best I have ever tasted, all fresh.

Nice birding, swimming trip - Great trip. It was the wrong time of year (March) to see many flamingos, but we saw a few. Lots of other birds. The cenote was very calming. Long story, but we didn't have enough cash on hand to pay the entry and our guide very kindly loaned some.

Fun excursion - Fun excursion to see different parts of the area. But the guide didn’t really tell us much about the places we visited. They were beautiful though.

Disappointing:/ - No isla pájaros and no playa mosquito ….and no explanation at the cenote. We were told that the storm destroyed the pier but still we should at least pass by and see it, the same with Playa mosquito they preferred to take us to Punta Coco that was pretty but wasn’t the one we paid to see, since We already stayed in this part of the island. This tour was very disappointing
