- Savegre River - We will collect you from your accommodation, whether it’s a hotel or a rental property, and embark on a journey of roughly 1 hour and 10 minutes heading south towards the Savegre River. Our route will take us past the quaint towns of El Silencio and Santo Domingo, offering a chance to admire the stunning landscapes, gain insights into the local area, and learn about the fascinating Savegre River. We’ll navigate the exciting Class II and III rapids on our rafts, and midway, we’ll pause for a refreshing snack beside a waterfall. After our rafting adventure concludes, we’ll return to the Amigos Del Rio base in Manuel Antonio to enjoy a well-deserved lunch, before transporting our guests back to their respective accommodations.

For the adventuresome beginner and experienced rafter the Class II and III rapids will have you filled with adrenaline as you paddle hard over the waves. Along the way you will be astounded by the awesome canyons, waterfalls, and primary rainforest of Costa Rica. The Savegre River is a magnificent stretch of whitewater that begins its course by winding out of a sparsely inhabited valley in the mountains. This trip also includes a stop at a beautiful waterfall.
Includes snack, lunch, certified equipment and guides, safety kayaker, and A/C transportation to and from hotels or houses in Manuel Antonio or Quepos.
- Minimum age is 6 years
- What to Bring: swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, bug spray, water shoes, tenis shoes or sandals with ankle straps. No flip flops.
- Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
- Largest life jacket fits a size 52” chest
- A minimum of 2 people per booking is required

What an amazing time! - We had a great experience! Luis was an amazing guide, and even taught us about his native country, Costa Rica. We learned about plants, trees, and animals. The river was beautiful and a great adventure!

Amazing Experience my new provider for adventure in Quepos - The attention to detail from the "Amigos del Río" (friends of the river) was spectacular from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for or expected anything more. They picked us up punctually, and our departure to the river was just as prompt.
Even though they had to adjust the rafts because some participants were feeling unwell, they quickly reorganized everything.
Ramirez, the organizer and founder of the company, clearly prioritizes safety above all else. The conversation on the way to the Savegre River was very entertaining and enjoyable.
The safety equipment looks brand new, and if it isn't, it's in excellent condition. The guides, along with Ramirez, make safety their top priority. The instructions are clear, making it ideal for first-time rafters.
The trip is over two hours long. The beauty of the Savegre is spectacular—there's action, adventure, rapids, and calm pools. The stop at the waterfall is gorgeous, and the snacks were excellent.
The delicious lunch was a traditional chicken and rice, but it was genuinely the most flavorful meal of our entire stay in the Manuel Antonio-Quepos area.

White water rafting with waterfall time - Excellent guides who shared a lot of knowledge and a very fun trip! Highly recommend as a great Costa Rican experience ! It was a great way to see primal forests, enjoy the river, waterfall time and good traditional lunch.

Best Rafting Experience Ever!!! - What an amazing adventure!!! We had the absolute best day whitewater rafting with Amigos Del Rio. From pickup to drop off, the entire day was perfect! The ride from the office to the river was just as fun as the rafting itself. Jesus and Randall, our rafting guides, were superb! We had so much fun, and the waterfall was beautiful. To top things off, they served us a delicious meal to end our day. We could not have asked for a better all around experience.

Safe, Fun, and Unforgettable Adventure! - joined this rafting tour with my 11-year-old son and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The guides were highly professional, friendly, and made us feel safe from start to finish. The rafting itself was so much fun – exciting rapids but also very manageable for families.
A highlight was stopping by a beautiful waterfall for a break, which gave us time to relax, swim, and enjoy the scenery. Everything was well organised and full of good energy.
I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Costa Rica – it’s a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and fun!

Highlight of our trip! - This company definitely earned many more than five stars. What an amazing day we had today with such a competent and friendly and extremely helpful staff. I loved going through the rapids and then enjoying a peaceful part of the river and then more rapids, etc.. The trip included a photographer who rowed along near us in a kayak took some wonderful pictures and also included the safety man who rowed along in his own kayak.Had a special trip to the waterfall and enjoyed some fresh pineapple, cookies, and water they provided. The day ended with a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch back at their office.
This is definitely a major highlight of our trip and I can’t recommend them having enough.

Ride of a lifetime - This tour is fantastic. The operators of this tour were easy to communicate with and picked us up on time. The views on the way to the river were stunning. Tour guide was upbeat and funny. Made the long ride less boring. The river ride was beautiful and adventurous, and they the food was really good. We loved every minute of it and was worth every star.
