Core memories for my kids - Highlight of our trip! Crazy Alex was our guide and he’s amazing! He can call the monkeys to the boat and spot a sloth a mile away. He made such an effort to involve my kids, which was so appreciated. Small tip, sit in the front of the boat, it has the best views for pictures and animal encounters!

Damas Island Monkeys - April 2025 - Awesome experience. We particularly enjoyed being able to interact with the monkeys. Our guide Alex was absolutely fantastic. He was nowledgeable and funny. You can sense his passion for his job.

Monkeys galore! - Our family loved the Mangrove tour. Crazy Alex, our guide, was super engaging. He knew all the bird calls and engaged us all calling the monkeys. We saw so many monkeys, a baby croc, birds and even a sloth!

Unforgettable moments - It was a fantastic trip .We saw a lot of animals and our guide was very anxious to give us a lot of information and let many animals experience up close. Simply an unforgettable experience .

Great tour for all ages! - We had a wonderful tour with our guide, Crazy Alex, and boat captain, Augusto. Crazy Alex amazed us all with his animal and bird sounds - the bird sounds were completely accurate as confirmed by my Merlin bird app! The boat was comfortable and shaded with an awning. We saw a lot of birds, animals and reptiles. Jesus Lizards running on the water, a boa constrictor snake, sloths, raccoon, owl, and many other creatures. Crazy Alex had to work really hard to entice the monkeys to come to us in the heat of the day but we finally had a visitor who licked banana off our hands and a little kiss on the cheek as it licked it off our cheeks. A sweet encounter that was also respectful of animal. Highly recommend - we had a multigenerational group and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a little dicey getting on/off the boat for this older lady but the guide is there to assist.

A magical boat voyage through the Mangroves - We had an absolutely amazing experience on our boat tour in Costa Rica! Our guide, the incredibly talented "Crazy Alex," had an impressive knowledge of the local wildlife and amazed us with his bird-calling skills. Augusto, our expert boat captain, navigated the waterways smoothly, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip. Alex worked really hard to ensure we saw a monkey up close and our sons were thrilled to feed one up close! We had the chance to see so many incredible animals, including sloths, various species of birds, a crocodile, lizards, and more. The boat itself was clean, safe, and well-maintained, offering a cool, shaded environment that made the tour incredibly pleasant. This was the highlight of our trip, and we can’t recommend this tour enough! If you're looking for an unforgettable wildlife experience, this is it!

A morning in the Mangrove - Loved everything about the tour! The guide, the driver, the other tourists from all over the world. We saw wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife!

The Highlight of our Vacation - We booked this tour through trip advisor last minute but had no issues. We arrived at the location, verified our tickets and then headed to the boat. There was a small group of us with one guide and one captain. Our guide was sooo knowledgeable and cared soo much about all of the animals we encountered. He highlighted the dangers and risks of feeding the monkeys (something this tour was strongly against, however, we saw other tours feeding the monkeys unfortunately). We saw soo much wildlife from monkeys to lizards. Our guide made sure everyone was able to see the animals and take photos. The boat ride was so relaxing and the landscape was beautiful. This tour was the highlight of our vacation in Costa Rica. I highly recommend going!

No monkeys, horrible treatment by Tour guide company - Tour was 30min late. No guide. Fortunately for us the guide who showed up was INCREDIBLE..Alex. If you can, ask for him. He mimicks so many birds and monkey sounds. He was incredible. My issue with the tour is that they tried to charge me more- during the tour. I had already purchased through Viator and spent $223. They claimed the never received payment even though it was charged on my Amex card. I felt almost harassed during the tour- which I spent emailing and texting Viator for receipt of payment instead of being able to enjoy the tour. They continued to insist after the tour that I needed to pay more. I stood firm and did not pay any more money. The owner of the company reached out to me threatening that if I left a poor review- I would only hurt Alex. Just bad business all around. We saw owls , birds, reptiles, turtles- no monkeys in our monkey tour. That was disappointing as well. Alex did try and try to call them to him. Again- had it not been for Alex who was knowledgeable enthusiastic and entertaining, I would have given this tour 1 star.
