Great tour of an amazing ecosystem - Amazing to see so many birds and animals! The mangrove forest is so special, it was really cool to see how nature adapts. We saw the endangered, super rare Silky Anteater too. It was so cute. Our guide, Brenda, was so kind, so helpful. She was our guide for another tour, and we requested her for this tour also. Definitely recommend any tour with her.

Visit the Mangroves with Damas Mangrove Boat Tour - The Damas Island Estuary Boat Trip from Manuel Antonio started with an early pick up at our hotel at 6:25 am. As we began our slow tour through the brackish waters of the mangroves, our tour guide Daniella, pointed out the many birds we saw. I We were hoping to see a sloth or some monkeys, but it’s always a chance what you will see. Each tour is different. She included a history of the area and explained the two different mangroves. There were no bugs or flies which was an added bonus. After the tour, we were taken to a local outdoor market and breakfast was provided, before returning to our hotel. It was a great tour and our guide was a delight.

Mangrove Ecology Up Close - Wow! Tucanestours Mangrove Boat Tour was phenomenal. Our very informative and accommodating guide was Beto. It’s amazing how he saw and identified for us so many birds, reptiles, and mammals within the mangrove forest. We saw a silky anteater, a nighthawk, and Capuchin monkeys. I counted 17 species. He explained mangrove ecology and showed us the seeds of a pineapple mangrove. If you want to see nature up close and enjoy the shade of the boat canopy, I highly recommend this tour.

A breathtaking cruise through the mangroves - This tour was my favorite thing we did while staying at Manuel Antonio. We were originally scheduled to go kayaking, but it was very rainy so we opted for the boat tour instead, and I’m so glad we did. Our guide, Jeremy, was incredible! He was very young, but had an astounding knowledge of the mangrove forest. It was such an interesting ecosystem to explore, and it was bursting with animal life! We saw soooo many birds (6 or 7 types of herons, various shore birds, mangrove humming birds, and even an osprey!). We also saw crabs, raccoons, and a silky anteater! It was really something special. I also want to give a shout out to Hugo and Diego. Hugo was going to be our kayak guide and rode with us on the bus. He was such a wealth of information and gave us so much history on the area. And Diego was our bus driver. He was amazing! I don’t know how they maneuver these huge buses down those tiny roads. Truly impressive stuff!

Scenic Kayaking Experience - We did our tour with Alfie and Randolph (driver). This tour was a super mellow way to experience the mangroves of Costa Rica. It was a nice way to be a little bit active and after the tour, we were rewarded with a delicious meal. While eating, we saw several Macaws!

Great experience with Allan Castillo! - This boat tour is a relaxing and very educational experience. Allan Castillo is a great guide! He is very knowledgeable and entertaining. He has a lot of energy and goes out of his way to make sure that everyone sees everything possible! We were lucky enough to have him as a guide at the Manuel Antonio National Park.

A relaxing afternoon - My husband and I went on the Damas Island boat tour and had Allan as our guide. Allen was very informative and good at spotting animals. Although we mainly saw birds and some reptiles, it was just relaxing to float and be part of the mangroves. I only gave this 4 stars because the restaurant at the end of the trip picked up the food before I could get much to eat. It was obvious they were anxious for us to leave.
