Walter Peak Experience. - The cruise on the TSS Earnslaw from Queenstown was lovely, with gorgeous views over the lake to the mountain ranges. Arrival at the Homestead was amazing, as the Staff appeared onshore to wave and welcome us. The Dining Rooms and the Buffet meal were as spectacular as promised. The follow-up visit to the Farm, for a sheepdog and shearing demonstration, was the perfect finale to a great visit. The young Welsh farmer (Joe?) presented with confidence and great humour, and it was wonderful watching his engagement with sheepdog (Echo?). He is a terrific addition to the Farm experience. We were very impressed by the way the demonstration was carried out, in a sheltered arena, but with a perfectly illuminated (it was dark) view of Echo working the sheep. Then back on the Earnslaw for our return, under the stars, to Queenstown. One of the highlights of our tour of the South Island.

Wonderful trip to be on - The TSS Earnshaw as mentioned is a historic steamship which plies on Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand. It was launched more than 110 years ago and is said that incidentally that was also the same year as the Titanic. Thankfully it is still going strong. In the olden days it served as a critical link with the farming communities along the lake's shores. Today, it's a major tourist attraction and an iconic part of Queenstown's history and managed by RealNZ, the company who restored this back after being nearly scrapped. The boat also serves snacks and drinks and has an on-board pianist. It is a nice journey to the Walter Peak farm and where we were served with some delicious high tea snacks. Post the team and snacks then we went on a farm tour to see all the farm animals including sheep, seeing how the sheep dogs manage the flock, the pigs and other animals including seeing how a sheep is wool is sheered. All in all a good trip of about 3.5 hours

Very fun tour - This was very enjoyable experience and the farm tour was a must do! We were able to meet the animals and feed most of them. It was pouring the whole tour and this didn't take away from the experience at all.

Must Do For Families! - This was one of favorite activities for our family during our New Zealand trip! The kids loved to feed and pet the animals, the sheep shearing and dog herding show was great, and the boat was really interesting. A great time for the kids and parents alike!

Beautiful views and great food. - The four of us had booked the 5pm trip along with many others. People queued for at least an hour prior to getting on but there is no need to. The trip over was lovely across the lake. It was interesting to see the old steamer and engines working. Not to mention the staff who look after it. Upon arrival, we went up to the restaurant, where everyone has a table booked in their name, so no need to rush. The food was plentiful and the choices extensive. The roast pork was the best, along with the prawns! It is a buffet, and you can visit it again after everyone has been called once. The show is announced later for those wanting to do that and the staff quickly begin preparing for the next group. The gardens are lovely for a stroll.

Great experience. The... - Great experience. The Farm tour was the highlight. The only downside was that there were too many people. Would have been better if it was partitioned in different groups of let's say maybe 15 to 20 people to make it fast flowing and spontaneous.
