A unique combination of beauty and power, it’s an experience like no other, blending pristine natural landscape with wall to wall canyon action from start to finish!
Proudly owned by Ngāi Tahu, the Māori people of this land, our connection to the Kimiākau (Shotover River) goes back centuries. As the home of our tīpuna (ancestors), this place is part of us. Only we have access to the spectacular Shotover Canyons and no one knows this area like we do!

Additional Information
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum age is 5 years and child must be at least 3 feet (1 meter) in height; dependent on water conditions, the operator reserves the right to increase the minimum height to 4 feet (1.2 meters)
- Lifejackets are provided
- Please allow 1.5 hours for return trip from Queenstown if taking shuttle bus
- Locker facilities available for personal belongings
- Check-in is 30 min prior to jet boat ride departure if self-driving to the river base

Shotover Jet - So much fun, so organised by all staff. What a thrill our driver was so fun, its a must do in Queenstown. The video you buy is great.

Definitely a must do!!!!! - What an awesome ride!!! This was mine and my daughter’s first jet boat ride and what a thrilling experience it was. We had so much fun!!! Paul was a solid driver, sharing knowledge and stories of the area and making sure we were algood. Definitely would come back and recommend to anyone looking to do something new and different! All staff that we encountered were friendly and welcoming :)

Hang onto your hats - Decided at the last minute to do the shot over jet and it didn’t disappoint. We took the complimentary shuttle there & back which was really easy. The jet boat ride was absolutely thrilling, skimming the shallow water, zooming through the canyons & completing a series of dizzying 360’s. Not sure how we avoided the rock walls & giant branches sticking out of the water! Make sure your beanie is very secure as the river claimed another one during a big 360. Lots of fun and highly recommended.

Amazing experience even in the freezing cold! - Amazing experience even in the freezing cold! Was only ~30 degrees F, but still great to ride down the canyons. Incredible how agile the boats are - such skilled drivers. Overall, felt very safe throughout - a lot of precautions taken by the company and individual boat drivers. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Great boat trip! - We really enjoyed our trip. We felt very safe in Rupert’s hands, he clearly had a lot of experience. Our boat trip was great fun we loved the 360s and were impressed by how close we got to the canyon. Would definitely recommend.

Gorge…OUS - Simply the best. Scary at times as it glides through the gorge. But absolutely stunning. The sites are amazing. Joe our driver was the best. Loved it. A must do.

A MUST do in Queenstown - This was the best adventure in NZ. Pity that it's not possible in Europe.. It was really funny. I would love to try it again. I lost my sunglasses though :)

Just do it! - Just do it! Was the best ride. Can’t recommend it enough. You can’t take your own photos on the boat but for under $50 you can get a digital video and photos which we thought was a great deal. Really enjoyed our trip.
