The ultimate LOTR-experience in the Queenstown area! - This must definately be the ultimate LOTR-experience in the Queenstown area, run by real LOTR-enthusiasts! In addition to being the tour where you get to do the famous head-on-a-spike-selfie, you will visit several other locations such as the Anduin, the Dead Marshes and the Mavora lake. The scenery was stunningly beautiful, and our guide Beau made the experience so awesome, with his endless knowledge about all things LOTR. At the end of the day we got to wield a wide selection of weapons, which was really the icing on the cake. Definately recommend!

The locations, props and company were all great as was the knowledge of Beau, our guide. - I had a great time on this lord of the rings tour. I'm a big fan of the books and movies and it was a fantastic experience being with like minded people. I'm a local to Queenstown so have been to some of the easier accessible filming locations myself but the mavora lakes tour allowed to go to places I'd not been before and might not have been able to see otherwise. Beau was a great tour guide with lots of anecdotes and behind the scenes facts. He was also did an admirable job of reading some memorable moments from the script. I particularly enjoyed reading the original scripts and playing with the incredibly realistic prop replicas of the weapons! Beau and company were also an encouraging group of people to do some reenactments of the scenes in front of. Mavora lakes is a stunning place anyway and the location of a poignant moment in the fellowship of the Ring. The edge of Fangorn forest was also a highlight. I had a great day out and would thoroughly recommend this tour and tour company.

Best day of my life - One of the best days of my life. If you have time I would recommend all the tours from this company (I did them all) and every one is perfect but my favourite one has been the Mavora lakes, baeu the driver was amazing nerding out with me about lord of the rings and other cool stuff and the highlight of the trip was seeing the famous place where Vigo mortenson broke his toe. That and the lakes are 2 very iconic filming locations.

Awesome day! The bad weather didn't even ruin any part of the experience - We went with a small group, one other guest, my girlfriend and me and had a super great day with our guide Beau. He probably got hired without saying a word, the lotr sleeve was probably plenty reason to hire him as one of the guides. He knew loads, showed a bit of his best acting skills and helped us a lot by showing where the scenes where exactly filled (photo to reality). The scripts, photos and props were fun to read and to play with as well. The weather wasnt all that great but we managed to do the whole tour anyway. Apart from being a geat guide, Beau is also just excellent company to spend a day in a van with. 10/10 (or 5/5 tripadvisor, whatever) would recommend tour and guide. Unless you don't like lord of the rings, maybe. But then why are you even reading this?

MUST LOTR tour!!!! - We are beyond grateful to this company for offering us this incredible LOTR experience! They arranged a private tour with an incredible guide, Beau. We saw so so many must see filming locals, most notably where the Fellowship separates. We had actual scripts to review (could have spent hours reading them) and call sheets. The photo book was awesome! We’ve been traveling NZ taking LOTR tours and this tour and Beau as our guide were the best!!!!

LASTING LOTR MEMORIES - This was our second full day of The Lord Of The Rings tour and I wasn't sure if we had taken the right decision to go to a little further away from Queenstown for this tour. But Im so glad that we did this tour. It certainly didn't disappoint. We visited pretty out of the way places to see the filming locations. Our guide Beaup was wonderful and gave us plenty of information on the making of the movies and also of the towns we visited. We stopped at Te Anau for lunch and had plenty of time to wander around the lake. We also had plenty of time to enact and take pictures with the props and Beaup was always ready with a smile to help take our pictures. He played some very interesting LOTR podcasts on the way back and we certainly didn't feel the distance. I was sooo happy with my free LOTR themed tote bag at the end of the tour. Oh what a memorable day for LOTR fans.

It was so fun. We went to... - It was so fun. We went to several movie scenes, some of which still looked exactly the same. Our guide Beau is very passionate and shared a lot of back-the-scene stories with us. The best surprise for me was listening to the record of Tolkien’s reading the chapter of “Riddles in the dark”. And the view itself was stunning in the national park. If you like a nerdy way of experiencing loTR scenes, it is the choice for you.
