Adventurous way to see Queenstown - This was our first trip to New Zealand’s South Island. Although I wasn’t a LOTR fanatic, I was intrigued to experience it with some adventure - and Nico with Nomad Safaris did not disappoint! It was a fun morning of seeing the interesting sites in Queenstown and surrounding areas, including Arrowtown and the Gold Rush. But the most exhilarating part, was Nico’s 4-wheel driving through the rushing Arrow River, water splashing over the hood and over the running boards! Nico offered for us to try gold panning, but all passengers declined because it was pouring rain. But, we all took him up on the hot chocolate, fresh banana bread and cookies. Nice touch! Nico had us back, on time, to continue our day. Price is good value for the adventure. Thank you!

Small group. Friendly, fun and informative. - Great afternoon. We were picked up from our accommodation, which was great. Our tour guide was welcoming and very informative. It is a small group tour and our tour guide quickly made sure we all got to know each other and where we had come from. The tour was fun and informative. Would highly recommend.

An unforgettable day! - Justin and Adrian gave us a drop dead awesome tour. They knew everything about the area as well as the Lord of the Rings films. They really made it come alive using photos from the films with you standing in the very same location. Wow! Just wow! They felt out the interests of our group and tailor made it to suit. Our guides were friendly, fun and had a blast getting to know each of us. The scenery was absolutely jaw dropping and we made lots of stops for photos. We got to do some fun 4WD running along dirt roads and blasting through stream crossings. At the end of the run we had our second breakfast complete with tea and biscuits. Finally, costumes and real swords were brought out for our movie scene reenactment. How cool was that! I only wish I could have given this tour more stars.

A great adventure. - The tour was fantastic. Our driver, Kenny, was most competent, helpful, and informative. The drive was adventurous and took us to places and on roads you wouldn’t have travelled. The scenery was spectacular. I found gold, panning the river. Great memories.

Fantastic 1/2 day tour - We really enjoyed our tour. Our tour guide Darrell was brilliant, he was knowledgeable & had a great sense of humour. We had great fun dressing up and enjoyed coffee & cake at a site in the woods where filming took place.

Disappointing Lord of The Rings Experience, But Enjoyable Overall - This tour is suitable for those interested in off-road exploration in Skippers Canyon and learning about the gold industry and Queenstown region, but it falls short for fans expecting a comprehensive Lord of The Rings experience. The tour advertised visits to various filming sites, but in reality, we only visited one actual location, and another was barely visible from a distance.

Good sites but bad company - We had a good experience on the other tour. But, this tour was a big let down and spoiled our whole experience. The sites were nice, but the driver was rude and when we mentioned it to the company, instead of doing. proper analysis, it tried to brush off the issue.

Great scenery, barely any LoTR in it - The tour guide was attentive and very friendly. He showed us scenic places. Unfortunately, there was barely any Lord of the Rings explanations or sites visited (1-2 seen from the distance only). Guide didnt know much about LoTRs world either. Touristic scenery is priorotised in this tour which is not why I paid so much money for or what I had in mind for the limited time I had in Queenstown.

SCAM! Don’t book. Ruin My Last Day of Vacation - SCAM! Don’t go! I booked this with a friend and when we arrived at the pick up location, the tour told us they were overbooked. We asked for a refund, but they said the error was through the ticketing vendor. Nomad didn’t do a thing to help remediate. We lost out on ~$160/ person. Don’t book. Scam!
