- Gobustan Rock Art - The journey begins with a visit to the historic Gobustan. By exploring the natural and architectural wonders of Gobustan Rock Art, visitors will gain invaluable insights into Azerbaijan’s history. The Cultural Landscape spans an area of 537 hectares and includes three sections of a plateau with rocky boulders emerging from the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan. It boasts an impressive collection of over 6,000 rock engravings, showcasing 40,000 years of rock art. Gobustan is a semi-desert region featuring five hills renowned for rock art sites: Kichik Dash, Boyuk Dash, Jinghirdag-Yazily tepe, Shongardag, and Shikhgaya. Gobustan rock art appears to have connections with the Western European Upper Palaeolithic open-air rock art.
- Mud Volcanoes - Azerbaijan is a unique and classic region where mud volcanism is actively developing. Over 350 types of mud volcanoes (active, extinct, buried, oil-producing, underwater, island volcanoes) are located in the dry part of eastern Azerbaijan and the adjacent Caspian Sea. Due to the number, variety, and activity of these natural monuments, Azerbaijan is unparalleled in the world and is considered the homeland of mud volcanoes.
- Bibi-Heybat Mosque - The stunning Bibiheybat Mosque, constructed in a classic oriental style, is beautifully designed with white marble and dome-colored glass. Within, a mosaic made of glass features Surat al-Nisa from the Qur’an. The mosque, standing 5 meters tall, can accommodate approximately 3,000 people simultaneously.
- Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve - The tour continues with a visit to the renowned Fire Mountain (Yanardag), which features a ten-meter-long wall of fire that never extinguishes, burning continuously along the hillside. The volcano, nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status, has been ablaze for centuries. With natural gas surfacing, the base of the burning mountain attracts visitors day and night. Before the 7th century, the volcano served as a Mecus temple, and although the surrounding buildings were destroyed, the fire persists.
- Ateshgah - Fire Temple - Ateshgah, located in the Suraxani district of Baku, is one of the three Mecusi temples worldwide. According to Zoroastrianism, this site is as sacred as Mecca, with shrines in Iran, India, and Azerbaijan. Every tourist entering the cellars can experience the wonders of this place. For instance, upon entering 12 cells, visitors witness a peculiar sight of flames burning in the dome of the four-story building in Ateshgah’s courtyard. It feels as though one is standing on a step of the flame. In the 18th cell, lingering for a moment reveals strange sounds, as if voices are speaking, though the words are indistinguishable.
- Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center - The final brief photo stop is at the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center. The park surrounding the Heydar Aliyev Center is one of the city’s most beautiful spots for relaxation and enjoyment. Visitors can unwind, stroll, view various outdoor exhibitions, and capture their memorable moments in photos and videos. The art composition “I Love Baku” is also featured in the park of the Heydar Aliyev Center.
