Highlights
  • Qingpu District - Your private tour guide will come to pick you up at your hotel lobby in the morning and take you to Zhaotun Strawberry Park in Qingpu District, which is well-known for its 20 years of research in plant technology. Upon arrival, the first thing you will notice is that you are not actually picking strawberries under a yawning blue sky but in the green house tent with some bees around. But don’t let this deter you; the strawberries are worth it! You will find the strawberries there are sweet and run-down-your-chin juicy. Your guide will accompany you to one of the tents to pick up the strawberries, and you can taste it as well during the picking time. You will surely have so much fun there!
Due to different seasonality; you will have different fruit surprise:
    • Strawberry (Dec.–May)
    • Sweet White Melon (March–July)
    • Cherry (May)
    • Blueberry (June–July)
    • Peach (July–Aug.)
    • Grape (July–Oct.)
    • Orange (Oct.–Nov.)

  • Zhujiajiao Ancient Town - After your joyful fruit picking time, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to visit the Zhujiajiao Water Village, an ancient town with a 1,700-year-old history. It’s renowned as the “Venice of the East,” and it is surrounded by water, with old architecture, tranquil canals, and crumbling bridges.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Shanghai.

Additional Information

Shanghai’s Zhaotun village, renown as ‘China’s Strawberry Capital,’ boasts an expansive 2000-acre area filled with strawberry greenhouses. Strawberry picking reaches its peak from the end of December to mid-May annually. Visitors are gifted a free half-kilo batch of strawberries upon departure from the fields. In the absence of strawberries, other fruit picking activities involving cherries, blueberries, and more are available. If you’re looking to explore a unique water village unlike Zhujiajiao, consider Nanxiang, Fengjing, or Xinchang. Additionally, an inclusive package entails a boat ride and a local feast at a farmer’s residence.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult

Charming and Caring - This tour appeared to go badly when I got myself muddled and booked it for the following day - when I would have left China! - instead of trying to be joined into an activity on the day of booking. The woman to whom I spoke on the phone - Alana? - could not have been more patient with my stupidity and magically summoned up a guide and driver to collect me within about 30 minutes of my very garbled and frantic phone call. Snow, my guide, was charming company, well-informed about matters relevant to what we were seeing but with excellent English, so able to speak with me about other interesting features of everyday life in China, our smiling driver conveyed that my safety was in good hands and - along with the beautiful traditional garden in Zhujiajiao - the other highlight was the very friendly manageress of the farm we visited, who generously let me eat so many of her loquats! With Alana too, I thank you for leaving me with such good memories: what we saw was interesting, but what was really memorable and engaging was speaking with Alana and meeting and spending time with the three of you. Along with other experiences of lovely Chinese people, your kindness and friendliness will be what I will remember. I warmly recommend this company and this tour.

Great way to see the old river town - Alana and driver picked us up at 9.30 sharp at our hotel. So nice to travel to the old river town in a comfortable car. Stopped along the way at a farm to pick fruit and feed the animals. Lunch in an authentic restaurant followed by a canal cruise and walk through the old gardens. All food and drinks included. Highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful trip to the watertown and fruit picking - We had a great tour guide, Berlin. She came with a privat driver and showed us a farm where we picked different kinds of fruits and we also fed some animals. After this we went to the watertown. She showed us around, we took the boat, had lunch and looked around some local shops. We highly recomand this trip! It was great:)

Wonderful - This is a beautiful tour if you've got kids and wanna have a beautiful time exploring Shanghai without the kids being grumpy. We were picked up at 9:30 am exactly by the wonderful Jane (who spoke English very well) in a nice van. She explained the itenary and asked if we had any comments or would like to make any changes before proceeding. She took us to a farm where the kids fed goats leaves and then the kids picked up melons from the same farm. She then recommended that we have lunch before exploring the city and the restaurant she took us to was clean with plenty of choices. The city itself (sorry but I don't recall the spelling) is so beautiful and we had fun exploring it with Jane. The highlight was riding in the gondola, which was so beautiful and the canals were breathtaking. The thing I liked about this tour is the fact that it catered to both kids and adults. Jane is well organized, attentive and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions and more, kept us hydrated all the time and we didn't feel the time with her. Thanks Jane

Everything was planned out wonderfully and we are going to go back with a lifetime of memories. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the place and the small pieces of information she gave us were very appreciated. She was very friendly and very easy to get along with, especially for our 3 year old daughter who had a great time because she ensured that she was comfortable the entire time. Thanks a lot for this great day trip!
