- Playa Punta Uva - We Will Start with a short hike where we Will take you to find sloths and many other animals in their natural hábitat , we will learn about them while we walk through the beautiful trails and scenery of the different viewpoints of punta uva.
You will hear stories about shipwrecks and real pirates of the caribbean mixed with the history of puerto viejo and Costa Rica in general.
After the hike we go back the meeting point for a small break and snack to cool down and relax a bit, then we will take the kayaks and head to the magical waters of the river where we will also see sloths but other amazing kind of wildlife too such as monkeys, iguanas, caiman, agoutis, etc…

You will experience a day in the life of a local from beginning to end, walking the jungle trails and kayaking a magical river full of wildlife and stories about real pirates and indigenous wisdom.
We will embark on a learning and narrative journey through one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, all while looking for sloths in their natural habitat, learning about them and all the amazing wildlife mixed with the puerto viejo vibe style, history, traditions of Costa Rica and much more.

Great experience with such a great local guy - Alex is a very nice guy, a good view of the animals, complete tour is relaxed and calm. We saw a lot of Sloth‘s, Ducan‘s and Spiders as well. I fully recommend Alex‘s tour.
By the way we stayed in Puerto viejo not in Punta Uva, we came with the bicycles, absolutely no problem.

Beautiful place, lots of wildlife - My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday morning for this tour. We began with a short hike/ walk around the area to see sloths, monkeys, flowers, giant trees, and Punta Uva. We learned some about the history of the areas and the sea grapes.
We then kayaked in the Quebrada Ernesto and took a slow pace to see all the wildlife. We were lucky with a beautiful sunny day, and saw so many birds and other wildlife. It really is such a beautiful and peaceful place to kayak, and we really enjoyed it.

See sloths and other wildlife - Our guide Alex was great - a good wildlife spotter. Saw 2 toe and 3 toe sloths, turtles, bats, crabs, a hawk, and other stuff.

Amazing kayak experience with lots of animals to see! - Wow! What a fun experience. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable and pointed out so many animals and wildlife for us to see. Saw a Jesus Christ lizard fall from a tree and run across the water right in front of us! We also had an opportunity to get VERY close to a few sloths and it was such an amazing experience! After the kayak, we had a little break in between for some pipa juice and then went on a hike to another beach and great viewpoint of the area. This Kayaking tour was the highlight of our time there and we would definitely book again the next time we are in town!

Fantastic experience - We took a wonderful canoe trip at Punta Uva with guide Alex. He spotted two sloths for us that we would never have seen ourselves. It was very relaxed and we highly recommend this tour and guide Alex.

Awesome time, gorgeous views, baby sloths, and more! - We had a fantastic time during our jungle kayaking tour with Alex! We saw way more animals than we expected — several sloths (including babies!!), howler monkeys, dart frogs, several birds — but our favorites were the spider monkeys, who were incredibly active and went right above us a few times over the river!
Alex was very knowledgeable and sweet. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He also took some lovely photos of us so that we can forever remember this great trip. We highly recommend this experience!

Very nice half-day trip - Absolutely recommended!
Before we got into the kayaks, we went on a lovely panoramic walk, during which Alexander explained a lot about the flora and fauna and of course found several sloths for us. Among them was even a mother with a baby in a perfect photo pose. It couldn't have been better.
The kayak tour is not physically demanding, but very beautiful. You should use a good mosquito repellent, however, as the area is swarming with mosquitoes. All in all, a great tour.

Entertaining excursion with Alex - An adventurous day with our tour guide Alex. We can recommend the tour to anyone.
We started with an easy hike. Here we could see some different animals. Then we went kayaking through a beautiful jungle river. Nature is unpredictable, but Alex does his best to find as many animals as possible.
At the end of the tour, we were even able to see a sloth up close.

All around perfect tour! - After not seeing a single sloth the whole holiday, we saw 9 on the tour thanks to Alec! Alec was a great guide, he was super relaxed and knew a lot about the animals and their environment. We can recommend it to everyone and had a great day! ☺️
