Highlights
  • J8Q4+8Q4 - You will be kayaking and walking the jungle trails and beaches with a professional guide visiting a amazing viewpoint and a cave. You’ll learn about history, culture, plants and wildlife while searching for a sloth out in the wild. The Caribbean Jungle is home to more than 300 bird species, big blue butterflies, interesting insects and other animals like poison dart frogs, iguanas, snakes, sloths, armadillos, several species of monkeys among others.

We believe every animal is a important part of an ecosystem and that they don’t belong behind a fence for human show. So the best way to support the sustainability is by ecotourism activities like this one.

This tour is in search of wildlife so there’s a possibility that we might not see what we are out to find. The sloths are not in cages and move around freely on this beach and sometimes but hardly ever just don’t want to be seen. But 99% of the time we do find them and see up to 10 or more on good days.

Highly recommend - Couldn’t speak more highly of this tour. Rob, the guide, was incredible at spotting sloths and pointed out 3 to us within the first 10 mins of the tour. I had been trying to find one myself in puerto viejo and hadn’t been able to, so this was incredible. The jungle hike was lovely and again we saw so much, and learnt about the plants and trees too. The hike is not at all strenuous, and I did it in teva sandals easily. We then went into the kayaks and along the river, again seeing toucans, monkeys, iguanas, sloths, turtles, and more! A very relaxed tour that is well worth the money, I would highly recommend to anyone in the area

Great experience! - We started the tour with a hike on the headland of Punta Uva, check the pictures to see the beauty of this place and we continued with kayaking, out guide Johnny(I hope I remember correctly) shared with us his knowledge and showed us a lot of hidden animal which without a guide you would definitely miss. Thank you Johnny for an incredible experience :)

Costa Rica Vacation - Kayaking on the river was pretty neat to see a sloth climb down and drink water ! Magnificent animals. The howler monkeys you could hear but not see because they were too high in the trees to see. The guide was friendly too

Nice - Very friendly tour with our welcoming guide Esteban who has a lot to share with us. Little tips because not detailed in the ad: it involves 1 hour of display in the jungle on foot then 1 hour of kayaking. For those wanting to do phito but afraid of kayaking, you can take the device and then leave it before starting the kayak.

Amazing sloth and kayak tour! - We just did this tour a few days ago and absolutely loved it! We were quite lucky as no one else booked so it was just me, my partner & the tour guide Esteban, so it was pretty intimate and Esteban really made it immersive for us. He was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and clearly has such a passion for it! We saw a couple of sloths around the beach as well as toucans, iguanas and vultures! The kayaking was really cool and Esteban was really chilled out with our terrible coordination lol he also recommended a cafe nearby called Carribean, which was so good! The coffee and food was unbelievable and highly recommend it if you love Caribbean food and strong coffee! I highly recommend this tour, Esteban was a great guide, lovely person and made the experience really fun. If you’re near Punta Uva, definitely book this, it’s a must do!

Great Trip - I had such an amazing afternoon, I couldn’t recommend the tour more. The kayaking through the jungle was so peaceful and a great opportunity to see wildlife. The hike was lovely and you see plenty of sloths. Afterwards a nice swim in the sea, fresh pineapple and beach time was most welcome. Our guide was really lovely and full of knowledgeable.

Great Tour! - Esteban was a great guide. We took a walking tour near the beach where we saw great views and several wild animals. We got a chance to see a baby sloth and mother up close 5 minutes into the tour. The kayaking was super fun and got to see a wet sloth having just come out the river as well as spider monkeys, howler monkeys, toucans, turtles other birds. There were several people on the tour with us that had not seen any sloths all week and they got to see 3 in a single day! The beach by the river is also fantastic and a must visit. Highly recomend!! -David

Fun hike - Great experience! Braulio stopped and educated us on local trees and animals! He took us on a leas crowded path where we got to see more of the nature and less footsteps! Would 100% recommend. He also made alot of jokes which made the hike more memorable

A great walk on Sloth Point, then a little bit of kayaking - We learned a lot about the history of Sloth Point and the natural wonders there. There was a little bit more foot touring than kayaking. The guide was very passionate about his beach and the animals there. The tour starting point was a little bit hard to find, so give yourself extra time to locate where exactly it is. The kayaking was only in the very slow moving river, and very easy. No need for life vests, helmets, etc. when you are just coasting along looking at lizards in trees, freshwater turtles and frogs. You might see a sloth like we did.
