Great time! - We had a great tour guide, great weather, and learned some cool facts. The plantation we went to was well maintained and had items available for purchase

First Timers - There was 5 of us. None of us ever used an ebike before. Guide could have instructed us alittle better about how to use the bike. He should have had better prepared to have bikes in working order, in fact one of us used it manually, because the electric part was not working. The ride is part pavement and part gravel. A bit scary to road with ongoing traffic, but necessary to get to location. Overall I am giving a 5 as we all did enjoy the experience and tour of the garden area, and personal housing. Bring some cash for small purchases.

Book this Experience! You will be happy you did! - I can't say enough about this experience, one of the best excursions ever! I booked this late at night the day before we wanted to go and received an immediate response. Messaging and calling through WhatsApp made it easy to communicate. Both the guide and driver were friendly and knowledgeable. We had a small group, only 3 on our tour, which was nice. But they keep the group size small and limit it to 10 people anyway. They were on time for the pickup at our resort and the SUV they picked us up in felt clean and safe. NOTE about pickup!!!! If you stay at Hard Rock, the Hotel's policy has changed (unknown to the tour operator). Hard Rock will no longer let them on the property to pick up guests. So you have to get a cab from the lobby to the Main gate out by the highway. (I suppose you would walk, but it's pretty far. A cab was about $10 USD each way.) Upon return, they are required to drop you off at the front gate and you have to again take a cab back to the lobby. This isn't the tour operator's fault, and it's really not a big deal as long as you know. None of us knew so it was a bit confusing for all of us but we got it worked out. Just plan ahead. Visiting the Coffee and Cocoa plantation was very informative and educational, and ALL of the town people that we came across were all so appreciative and friendly. At the coffee/cocoa farm, there are some very nice ladies selling bracelets, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and of course Mamajuana at reasonable prices. So if you're able, they appreciate you buying something, but they don't pressure you. One note, I do not know if they have smaller bikes, so I wouldn't recommend this for small children without talking with the tour operator. These bikes might be too big for children under 10. It also only took us a couple of hours so if you want to get out of your resort to explore without being gone for a full day, I'd recommend this tour! I am glad I did!

Wonderful experience. Highly recommend! - We had a wonderful time on this tour. The guides were super nice and very knowledgable. In addition to seeing some of the beauty of the Dominican Republic beyond the beach, we learned a ton about how coffee, chocolate and vanilla and other crops are grown and harvested. The bikes were in good shape (and I'm a biker). This was a great tour. Book in the first day or two of your trip - you may want to book a 2nd or 3rd tour with this group!

E-bike tour - Our driver, Jos and guide, Alberto, were very good. Mostly flat paved smooth roads. Jos followed us in SUV so no worries about safety or bikes. We visited a farmer and his wife and tasted coffee and cocoa they had grown. We also went to a beach on Atlantic side of island. Great way to see the island!

A Plus - Listen. The weather was hot but the beaches were getting a little boring. Dude when I tell you DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT, F** the tour bus and F** the taxi/Uber, hop on this excursion asap. It’s literally a real tour without all the extra talking, only significant locations or if youre curious and can multitask riding bike and talking, then go for it ! and when you’re on the bike the breeze is constantly hitting you so you’re not hating the heat. I would definitely wear gym clothes, no sleeves or short sleeves is good. Im native to the Puerto Rican island and hopping on this E Bikes to get a feel of the city reminded me of when I used to get on my bike and ride around my Pueblo (town), saying hi to my neighbors, chasing down the ice cream truck. AND YOU CAN CHOOSE TO BE LAZY ON THE BIKE AND BARELY PEDAL. This is hands down the best way to tour anywhere you’re not familiar with. Just put on a small back pack or side bag with a small towel to wipe your sweat or extra water if you’re a super dehydrated individual (they provide water twice) and your phones. Carry some Dominican cash just incase you wanna ask the tour guide for a snack (hundreds of Colmados and hundreds of snack shacks). Dude, they even stop you at this family owned business (the house is like 72 or 96 years old) and behind the house they have their plantation, you can use your American dollars to buy their handmade coffee, vanilla, chocolate, etc. they will show you the plants and it’s was only like 30 min to stop and rest a little bit before you continued your adventure. It’s nothing fancy, it’s literally a typical family plantation. People do not rate this excursion enough. Get your asses off a tour bus and enjoy what it feels like to actually live on the island riding around with the natives. They all ride motorcycles so you’ll be on their level. You’re welcome :) -27 YO female from Puerto Rico and Georgia p.s the whole tour is on a bike so if you plan on stopping to take photos maybe give the guide a heads up, or just do what normal pple do and keep your phone on your body and pull it out while you’re riding your bike and multitask. I feel like the average person is capable of it. Just don’t have out your phone when you’re crossing intersections… unless you have a death wish 😂😂 oh and also to the person who said in the review the price was too expensive? If you’re on vacation, plan to spend money. It was the cheapest excursion yet and the money is going to a a small business. This country is constantly hurting and the least we can do is give them money for their businesses and a tip if you’re generous. We come to visit a country that lives off of tourism and fishing. Don’t be an a***hole.

Good bike ride, but not for the inexperienced. - We were unable to make our original reservation due to my husband being sick, and they were very accommodating to switch it to another day. They picked us up at our resort and drove us to the location where the bikes were. We were given very little information, essentially just how to use the pedal assist on the e-bike. Then we were off with just us and our guide. Thankfully we have done many bike and e-bike tours before because our guide did not speak English well, and we already knew the hand signals. The first two thirds of the ride is on main roads, so there is a lot of car traffic. We then went onto dirt roads where there was still some traffic, but not as much. Throughout, there was some rough terrain including speed bumps, potholes, etc. The plantation stop was interesting and informative learning how the coffee, cacao, and vanilla beans are grown. Then we rode back to a little further than where we started to Macao Beach which was gorgeous. They gave us time to explore there, then we walked back to the van for our ride back to the resort. It was about an 8 mile bike ride total, and you got to see how real Dominicans live. We enjoyed it, but for someone who is less experienced in cycling, it might be challenging with the roads, traffic and operating the e-bike.
