No pressure - Such a nice shopping experience. No pressure from vendors, could go at your own pace. They give you a little basket to walk around with and pay for everything at the end.

Enjoyable experience - Our driver Jesus was awesome. Kind, friendly, and made sure we got a ride back after we were left sitting when everyone else was on a different bus. The tour was ok. Bought some gifts to take home. Enjoyed the rum and chocolate tasting the most for sure!

Great tour! - This was a great little opportunity to leave the hotel lol. The tour was to be a 2 hr but everything was done in 1 hr. The cigar ppl are so awesome and well informative with a cigar of your choice for sample (loved that). We had the liquor tasting which was also good, the coffee tasting was very short and you only taste 1 of the many options they have. The chocolate section was great! You have the option to taste all the chocolate available, you take chocolate tea & cocoa tea ( there is a difference here). It was relaxing.

Sales Oriented - The cigar factory had a handful of workers and a very knowledgeable guide. You could try a cigar if so inclined. The rum tasting was a disappointment: only a Ts of rum. A drink was $5. At the Cocoa factory no one was working, but you could taste different samples of bars and the guide was knowledgeable. Souvenir shop was large with average prices. They will shuttle you to and from your resort for $5/person which I'm sure is cheaper than a taxi, but the service returns you on island time. It was worth the time but set a low bar for information. Its goal is sales.

Shopping trip - We were picked up from the front door of our hotel on time in an air conditioned bus, which was great. On arrival we were given a cigar to smoke...not a bad one, and shown cigar rolling and got a chance to have some photos taken. After that the guided aspect stopped. The rest of the place is shamelessly a shopping experience of local merchandise. Apart from a few information boards there wasn't really any "museum" aspect to it. We kind of expected to be shown how chocolate, coffee and rum were made? If you ask, the staff will tell you about it but the rums on offer on the tasting were flavoured rums, not for us. The quality of the produce is excellent but not cheap...Dominican cigars, coffee and chocolate is some of the best in the world, they aren't giving it away. The guy in the cigar shop was knowledgeable and engaging and there is absolutely NO PRESSURE on you to buy anything. Our disappointment of the trip was that the pick up back to the hotel was late and disorganised and we ended up waiting 90 mins to be put on a bus back. If the return bus was better I would have considered 4/5 stars

Not what the description states, and deserted there! - 1st they are not factories, no cigar rolling, pay for drinks except the DR mixed one and coconut. Terrible! Busses left 5 of us behind. We were told there was no room for us. They took us there, they should have brought us back. We were told another bus would be back to pick us up. After an hour, a tour bus was dropping people off and we basically begged him to get us back. He was very kind, made a call and brought all of us back. This was a very uneasy, terrible experience.
