Setting Sail on a Floating Adventure

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I made my way to the dock in Punta Cana, ready to embark on the Floating Kitchen Experience. As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours in the ocean, but this was a new kind of adventure. The idea of a floating kitchen and bar, combined with the promise of vibrant marine life, was too tempting to resist.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly crew and a small group of fellow adventurers. The boat, spacious enough for 150, was only hosting 14 of us, ensuring a relaxed and intimate experience. Our journey continued to a secluded beach, where we were treated to the signature “Cocoloco” cocktail. Made with coconut water, rum, and sugar, it was the perfect refreshment under the swaying palm trees. For those who preferred to stay on the boat, Don Julio personally delivered the coconuts, ensuring no one missed out on the experience.

The final stop was at a natural pool, where the waters were deeper than expected but equally inviting. Here, we enjoyed a floating bar and more snorkeling, encountering different species of fish in this serene setting. The crew’s dedication to making the experience accessible to everyone was evident, as they assisted a passenger who couldn’t swim, allowing her to enjoy the snorkeling adventure on a flotation raft.

As the day came to a close, I reflected on the incredible journey we had just experienced. The combination of breathtaking scenery, delicious food, and the crew’s unwavering hospitality made this a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
