Excellent tour with José! I would absolutely do this tour again! - José was an excellent guide - funny, personable, knowledgeable and overall very welcoming. I also appreciated that he helped take photographs of the penguins through the monocular! I would absolutely take more tours with him! It is a long day, but there’s so much to see and experience. I went on this tour for the penguins, but I also wanted to see other wildlife and learn more about the area/region. I thought this was absolutely worth the day-trip! Notes for travelers: bring binoculars, it definitely elevates the experience. I dressed in layers, and was grateful I included extra socks in my layers!

Tierra del Fuego Review! - Fantastic tour with amazing views! More than just penguin watching. Stopped for tons of Guanacos, Rheas, foxes, and sheep. The long journey was broken up well. Felt like more of a safari! Eduardo was fantastic!! Would book again!

Worth the journey! - I highly recommend the tour. It is a long day (about 14 hours) but seeing the penguins at the reserve was a wonderful experience. Our guide was fantastic and we made several other fun stops along the way. The penguin reserve is very well-managed, and they have scopes that allow you to see the penguins even closer. The lunch was fantastic - one of the best most authentic meals I had in Chile.

King Penguin experience - Atman was a great guide but I was disappointed that we couldn't get very close to the penguins. If I had known that, I would have brought my binoculars.

Book directly with the Tour Agent. - Book directly with Viento Del sur Tours Agency at +56 9 5901 7852 on WhatsApp for 80,000 CLP or $86 ish. They are nice and quick to respond. Viator seller lied to me that this tour would fill up quickly to rip me off. The tour, due to low season, was never full. The tour agent can provide a much better customer service. A good agent, in my opinion.

King penguins - It was a great adventure to the penguins in their natural habitat. We saw baby chicks too. This is the only colony of King penguins in Chile. The ride was long with limited scenery. Our guide of an English tour did not have command of the English language, so it was very frustrating at times.

King Penguin tour letdown - Quite simply too long, too expensive and parts of it towards the end (albeit interesting about the Chilean Selkmam people) irrelevant to me. With respect If I’d have wanted a history tour I’d have booked one. Also it was an incredibly long day for an hour of penguin viewing at 50metres (yes I know that’s a legal requirement) even though they are the most wonderful animals and I will take away memories of this. I felt there were so many opportunities missed to stop here and there and photograph the beautiful landscape we were travelling through (in fairness nobody asked) and some of the wildlife. I felt a little let down by it given the price but hey ho you live and learn. I would say the tour guide was very nice and helpful and extremely knowledgeable
