So much fun! - We really enjoyed our surf lessons with Okala and would highly recommend this group to anyone! We are a family of 5, including 3 kids (7, 12 and 14). Everyone in our group got the hang of it and had a great time surfing for our first time. The kids were very well taken care of and our youngest was totally safe and well looked after the whole time she was in the water. We were picked up on time at our hotel and the whole day was just fun and easy going. The instructors were very friendly, easy to talk to and made sure we had a blast the whole time. We felt like we got a really good local experience and would definitely book this excursion again!

Great experience - All you need is your swimsuit and sunscreen, the rest is provided, even the transportation to and from your resort.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! - This was by far the best thing my mom and I did on our vacation! Got surf lessons from here with Jonathan, Kalany, and Kristhian and they were amazing instructors. My mom and I both thought surfing was going to be much harder but with our teachers it was super easy and fun! If you want to learn how to surf you have to do lessons here you will NOT regret it!!!

Great first time surfing instruction! - My brother and I were visiting and wanted to try surfing for the first time. Okala is run by a family of three brothers, and they were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable! They picked us up right from our hotel which was very convenient. They gave excellent instruction and made sure that we had a great time, even providing water and snacks. By the end we were both able to pop up and ride waves all the way to the sand. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to learn how to surf!

Awesome Surfing Lessons - I did a solo surfing lesson today with Jonathan and it was fantastic. I’ve had surfing lessons before but the way he taught and the tips he gave me had me catching most waves. The beach itself (nayarit) is beautiful and perfect for beginners, and it is very convenient as they pick you up from your hotel, drop you off, and provide all the gear (incl. water and snacks). Great! - I had an awesome time! My first time ever surfing and my instructors were friendly and helpful!! I felt encouraged and was in great hands the whole time!

HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP - We had an AMAZING first experience surfing with the Okala Surf School! We went with another couple (in our 20s) and were both picked up at the resorts we were staying at and then drove 20 mins north near Punta Mita where the water was crystal clear. There are multiple locations they can take you based on the weather and waves. We were beginners but I know that they would be good with multiple levels and age groups. This family company is EXTREMELY friendly, funny, and knowledgable. We went on a short hike to the beach and they gave us a lesson in the sand before moving to the water. There was 2 people with us in the water the entire time and they made us feel super safe. There was also one person floating near shore taking awesome GoPro pictures which were INCLUDED WITH THE PRICE (and they turned out amazing) and one person on the beach to watch and signal for which waves to catch. They also took tons of pictures for us on our own phones, provided us with snacks, and dropped us off in Bucerias at a beach bar afterwards! I think in total it was around 4 hours which was the perfect amount for us (exhausted afterwards but can take as many breaks necessary as you need). If you are looking for family-run surfing venture BOOK WITH OKALA!! I seriously cannot recommend them enough. Thank you for making our first surfing excursion (and my first trip to Mexico) so special!

Must Do while In Puerto Vallarta - Great for Beginners! - This was the first time our children had ever surfed! The surfing location was great for beginners. The kids had a great time and picked it up really quick with the great instruction of Jonathan, Kristhian and Kalany! Most of all they took great care to make sure the whole experience was safe. They were on time picking up at our hotel. The pictures were amazing and will be great memories! I only wish I knew how far we were from the surfing location - we were an hour out so traveling to and from took most of the 4 hours. The kids could have spent more time out there surfing! Thank you for a great experience - definitely would recommend.

Incredible experience - Kalany and his dad were great instructors. Easy to learn with them. Just had a totally great experience with them.

Surfing Adventure - I took two lessons at Okala surf school during the Christmas/New Year week. It was the best surfing experience so far, even compared to Hawaii/Portugal. First day waves were relatively small (ideal for beginner) and opportinites to catch the waves were plenty. It was probably the first time when I was able to paddle and stand up by myself. Second day waves were much bigger, and we surved white water. Kristhian and Kalany did a great job to push me through the waves and it was so much fun!!
