Great and Tasty start to our PV Trip! - Joana is absolutely fabulous – super warm, friendly and welcoming from the start. She makes every effort to make sure that you the individual are enjoying yourself and having a good time. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about food culture and history in PV. We loved all the local spots – from restaurants known for their tacos especialidades to family street stands that been occupying the same spot for multiple generations. Fish tacos, el pastor, tacos volcanes, tripas, lengua, and extra churros and coffee/chocolate and then a special mole chicken enchilada + a shot of tequila round out a very lovely evening! In fact, we returned to a couple places (Sonorita and Gaby’s) for meals on our own. Wonderful way to begin our trip to Puerto Vallarta!

Would go again in a heart beat! - The tour was spectacular, informative and tasty and certainly would not have found the places on my own or had the courage to go. Miel was a fantastic guide, friendly, attentive to the whole group, knowledgeable and just a great guide overall. I would absolutely take the tour again with Miel.

Taco Adventure Evening Food Tour – Vallarta Food Tours - Our cousin trip to Puerto Vallarta wouldn’t have been complete without diving into the incredible local food scene—and the Taco Adventure Evening Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours was the perfect way to do it! From the first bite to the final sip, this tour was packed with flavor, fun, and unforgettable moments.
Our Guide – Joana
Let’s start with the heart of our experience: Joana, our tour guide. She was a last-minute fill-in, but you’d never know it—she was exceptional! Knowledgeable, upbeat, and effortlessly fun, she made the whole evening feel like a stroll with friends. I’ll absolutely be name-requesting her when I return with my husband in November.
Stop 1: Mahi-Mahi Taco with Antonio from Gueros
Antonio served up a mahi-mahi taco that absolutely exploded with flavor. Fresh, bright, and perfectly cooked—an incredible start to the tour.
Stop 2: The Volcano
Not quite a tostada, but definitely tostada-adjacent! This crispy bite, layered with chorizo and queso, was smoky, cheesy heaven.
Stop 3: Crab Enchiladas & Shrimp Skewers
Seafood lovers rejoice! The crab enchiladas were indulgent and delicious, while the shrimp skewer had a charred, juicy punch that balanced it all out. Loved that this tour celebrates ocean fare so well.
Stop 4: Barbacoa Taco Stand
Rich, tender barbacoa with all the right spices—classic and comforting. Easily one of the best tacos of the night.
Stop 5: Marlin on a Flour Tortilla
Flour tortillas are a rarity here, so this was a real treat. The marlin was smoky and flavorful, with that soft, pillowy tortilla making each bite memorable.
Stop 6: Al Pastor with Pineapple from “Flaco”
That al pastor taco with pineapple? UNREAL. Flaco knows what he’s doing. I wanted five more but was deliciously full by then.
Stop 7: Dessert – Churros
Served by a dedicated couple who show up every day, rain or shine. These churros were so good we came back the next night—in the rain—for more. Totally worth it.
Final Stop: Nightcap at El Tasting Room
We ended the tour with a killer cocktail: Tequila Blanco with grapefruit, orange juice, lime juice, "toxic water," and Tajín on the rim. A perfectly zesty, refreshing nightcap.
Every vendor had heart and soul in their food. The mix of seafood, traditional bites, sweet treats, and local drinks made this a food lover’s dream. And with Joana leading the way? Absolute perfection.
This tour is a must-do in Puerto Vallarta.
I’ll be back in November—and I’ll be requesting Joana by name!

Tacos With Bernardo - Our Vallarta Food Tour was outstanding. Bernardo, our guide, was amazing. He was engaging and inclusive, shared history and stories of the local neighborhoods and vendors. Booking the tour the first night of our stay worked exactly as we hoped. After spending time with Bernardo we had a good feel of excellent places to eat around the city and revisited several vendors on our own. We will definitely book another tour on our next trip.

Best Tour with the Best Guide Manu - This food tour blew expectations out of the water. Not only did we eat great food, but also got plenty of recommendations for the rest of our trip. Manu was our guide and he is the best of the best. He was humorous, excited, personable, knowledgeable, and very experienced. I encourage everyone to do this towards the beginning of their trip because it will make the rest of the visit to Puerto Vallarta significantly better.

Nice! - Manu was awesome. My husband bailed on us after the 2nd stop(hurt hip) but I prevailed. Every stop was great. My favorite was the beef cheek taco and the stand that was 4th generation vendors.
The Mezcal was cool too. Manu is very charming and informative.
