What will we do:
-
After meeting we begin a walk of approximately 20 minutes along the beach to reach the camp.
-
You will receive an informative talk about the sea turtle conservation program in Puerto Vallarta.

We will carry out a search and collection activity for turtle eggs supervised by trained biologists (activity with artificial materials, no real eggs are used)
-
We will take a tour of the incubation areas of the camp while we explain how we work in each area.
-
We will end with the release of baby turtles into the sea while we watch a beautiful sunset.
(We do not touch or handle the baby turtles with our hands)

Tell the driver that the best access is through Marina Vallarta-Calle Albatros next to Hotel One, continue until you cross Calle Bocanegra and continue until the end on the beach (you will see a security gate, a golf course and the beach) IF YOU ARRIVE EARLY, WAIT THERE, DON'T WALK TO THE CAMP ALONE.

Great educational experience at turtle camp - Enjoyed every minute of our time learning about turtles and the incredible efforts these folks are putting into turtle conservation. Loved seeing the baby turtles being released the ocean. 10 out of 10, highly recommended.

Well done and very enjoyable - This is unlike many/ most excursions as it takes you behind the scenes of Mexico’s efforts to support the recovery of the local turtle populations in PV. There is a brief presentation of information on the world’s turtle species and then they show you where and how they do their work, culminating in an opportunity to release a newly- hatched baby into the ocean and wish them good luck. If they are a female, they will return to this very beach to lay their eggs in 20-ish years. Our group had several young people in it and they enjoyed it just as much as the adults. As well they captured the whole experience with pictures and send them to you. This is very worth your time and support.

An amazing experience! - This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that was educational for the whole family. The experience was unique, and we were there for a couple of hours. We brought two younger kids who had a great time. We would for sure recommend it.

Amazing Experience - It was an amazing experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The talk beforehand was very informative and the turtle release itself was just incredible. I would do this again if I were in Puerto Vallarta again in a heartbeat.

Magical experience - This activity was everything I'd hoped it would be and more! The activity started on time and we walked as a group to the conservation area which was a 10 minute walk along the beach. We were then given water and lots of interesting information about sea turtles and their life cycles. They showed us the turtle reserve and what they did there. We then got to release our own turtle!! It was truly amazing to watch them scuttle to the ocean. They also include photos in the price which was a nice surprise. Everyone was so kind and professional. Make sure to bring some extra money if you can - they often rely on donations as government funding is limited. Thank you so much :)

Magical Experience - Had a fantastic time. The guide was very informative and shared a lot about how the camp works prior to releasing the turtles. It's a magical experience! If you have the chance, do it!

Horrible - We arrived as directed in a remote location after spending $15 for a taxi. No one showed up or notified us of a cancellation. We walked for 40 minutes in the rain to find another taxi (another $15). It’s impossible to contact Viator about getting our money back.
