Instructors were great... - Instructors were great and very accommodating. I booked a 1 hr refresher course prior to the trip with Vallarta Adventures and the instructor helped feel ready for Los Arcos. The day of, I was hit with terrible sea sickness and affected my dive. The staff noticed right away and were quick to act. There were various levels of divers on my trip and there was accommodations for all. Would highly recommend!

Great scuba experience - We went diving with dive master Joaquin at Las Caletas and it was a really cool experience. My husband and I are recently certified divers and this was our first time diving in the pacific but our dive master was so knowledgeable, helpful and made it a super easy and fun time. It was also so nice to get to spend some time at the beautiful Las Caletas beach afterwards too. Worth it. Thank you guys!

Great experience getting scuba certified! - I got my open-water scuba certification with Vallarta Adventures. Gustavo was super helpful and clear with the in-pool training, and gave me a lot of opportunities to practice ! Johnnie instructed me in the open-water dives and was super reassuring and experienced. I had a great time and never was concerned about safety, they were both very knowledgeable and confident ! I also have a pretty small face so my mask kept slipping and filling with water, and both instructors were patient and competent with getting it fixed without making me worry or choke underwater

Worth every penny! DO IT! - This was one of the highlights of our whole trip! Absolutely incredible and very reasonably priced for what you get. We had two unbelievably beautiful dives, our guide Ali was very professional and made sure we were all feeling safe and secure the entire time. After the dives we still had ample time to enjoy the delicious lunch buffet and swim and relax on the stunning and picturesque island. However the boat ride there and back had to have been some of the best parts of the whole thing - the crew is so hilarious, lively and accommodating. They even put on a completely unexpected performance on the ride home that had us crying laughing and losing our minds! This is SO fun. Unreal experience!

Little Suprised - Over all it was smooth experience. However they asked $49 USD for diving class in order to get on the boat. It felt like last minute shake down. This should have been mentioned on the website, if this class one of the requirement.

Caveat Emptor - We booked a trip to Marietas Island to go scuba diving on September 5th, 2024. After some late additions to our crew, we canceled and rebooked to do Las Caletas through instead. I was told there would be a 10% cancellation fee and we would be refunded in 15-20 days. This was on September 15th. I am still waiting for my refund over 60 days later. I have contacted them numerous times and the one time I received the response, “We see that the refund is in process due to a high volume of cancellations. There has been a delay, we have placed this refund as urgent so it can be processed as soon as possible”. I’m still waiting and haven’t received any responses to my follow-up emails. This is my review of the Scuba diving with a 5-Star PADI Center. I will post a review of the Las Caletas tour separately.

Look elsewhere for scuba diving in PV - We had a terrible experience scuba diving with Vallarta Adventures in March 2025, and I would strongly advise not using this company for scuba diving. We booked a scuba diving excursion with sea lions at Las Caletas, and were not told that we would not be able to do this tour until we were already on the boat to the dive site. We were not given the option of a refund, and were sent to do a different dive, which we did not have an interest in. The whole reason we booked the dive was the sea lion experience. The visibility was terrible, the water was very cold, and we were not given the proper equipment for the water temperature. The group had divers who were not open water certified, and got lost during the dive, making the whole experience terrible as we had to hold onto each other in a closed circle at the DM's insistence, so no one got lost. The dives then had to be cut short due to the inexperienced divers and inadequate equipment for the water temperatures. The Las Caletas site is only worth going to if you want to maximize the open bar with cheap alcohol. The lunch buffet is flavorless and poorly cooked food. The experience is designed to appeal to the drunk American cruise ship types, and I do not recommend this to anyone who actually likes scuba diving.

Don’t Use This Vendor - I did not have a good experience with this vendor. The captain and tour guide showed up an hour late to start the tour. Then the captain drove the boat way too fast on choppy waters, which made me sea sick. Due to this, I was only able to partake in one of the dives and it wasn’t a good dive since I did not feel well. I asked for a partial refund from the vendor, but they would not accommodate and stated that “the tour was provided in full.” I will never use this vendor again.

Expensive and boring: A dive under a jetty - I was very unhappy with this diving excursion. While I’ve had bad experiences in the past (I’ve been diving for 15 years), this one takes the cake. 1. Beware of hidden (non optional) fees on top of the 100$ sticker price, such as, but not limited to, a nature park fee, a port entry fee, scuba equipment rental fee, picture fee, course fee etc. In the end I paid nearly 200USD. 2. They take you diving literally right under the boardwalk, right next to where all the day trip boats land and cruise ship passengers disembark. Visibility was 10ft at most. No nature, no reefs, brown water and debris. I’ve been on pool dives with more to see. 3. Two tanks will get you 40min diving time. After that you get to wait for a couple hours then they take you back to PV.
