Overall an excellent experience and our guide Isaac was awesome! - The excursion started at 9:30am at the meeting point and we got back to the meeting point at around 4:30pm so the duration of the entire thing was about 7 hours. Brief overview of how it goes, you get to the meeting point in front of an Oxxo and your guide for the day will meet you there. Then, you get on a local bus together that takes you to a place called Boca de Tomatlan. From there, your guide will arrange for a water taxi to take you on a short speedboat ride (about 15 min) to Quimixto. From there, you walk through the small town and then start your hike. The hike itself was about 30 -45 min depending on your pace. My mom is a bit older and Isaac was very kind in keeping a slow pace and waiting whenver she needed a break. The trail is easy to walk on and not rocky at all with intermittent parts of moderate incline. You can also opt to ride a horse there and back for 200 pesos, also to be aware of, if you decide to get a horse just on the way down, it is the same price. Towards the end, you do have to take off your shoes to cross a creek so be prepared to get your feet wet. The destination has a gorgeous medium sized waterfall that you can swim in. There is also a rope along the rocky cliff that you can climb to cliff jump into the pool. There is a family that lives there and has set up tables and chairs for you to sit and enjoy the scene and the unsaid courtesy is to just order a drink while you're there. After some time, we hiked back down and got back into a water taxi and they took us to Las Animas which is a beach. We ate at a restaurant there and after eating, we made our way back to the meeting point. Our guide Isaac was on time, incredibly friendly, and taught us about the locals. He was extremely accomodating with us, especially since my mom has bad knees and struggled a bit on the hike. Overall, I would recommend this excursion and felt like it was well worth the money.

Amazing experience, highly recommend! - Carlos and Isaac were absolutely amazing guides! Very patient, friendly and fun to talk to! We had a great time on this hike. Myself, my wife and my mother-in-law all loved it. The hike was through a very cool area, a mix of a small town and the jungle l. Swimming in this beautiful waterfall was so much fun. Finishing with a very delicious seafood lunch on a beautiful beach was a great way to finish the day as well. We highly recommend this!

Fun experience! - Carlos was a fantastic guide! So friendly, helpful, and personable. He took some amazing photos for us and sent it to us shortly after the hike. The boat ride to the hike was fun but definitely not for the faint of heart, hah! The hike itself was pretty easy and we basically had the whole waterfall to ourselves. The waterfall isn't huge, but it was a fun spot to hang in the water for a bit after the hike. We ended with a delicious lunch on the beach. I personally think the other hikes might be more scenic (I've done the 6 hidden beaches hike with another group), but this is a great option for a short hike that you'll pretty much have to yourselves!

Great guide - Great guide. The waterfall is rather small but still worth it. I loved it. I think for someone who loves the nature, it's perfect.

Poor substitution of canceled trip - Canceled our Quimixto hike and took us by city bus to another waterfall that was an hour hike through thick jungle with boulders and crossing a river at least 3 times - poor trip

Rock climbing - This was a very intense hike unlike how they described this. You walked through branches and huge rocks and had to climb over very wet paths. The boat ride was non existent. I had such a hard time climbing these huge rocks and tree branches that I refused to go any further & had to have the guide help me back to the road to get a taxi back to my hotel. It was very scary & unsafe to me. This is not a safe hike to do.
