Thank you EcoTours! - I recently took a private eco-tour with Ecotours while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was myself, my 27-year old daughter, and our fantastic guides Michael and Raphael. We started with a boat ride to Los Arcos to see the famous rock formations jutting out of the water. Raphael expertly maneuvered the boat while Michael shared interesting facts about the geology of the area. After admiring Los Arcos, we stopped for some snorkeling. The clear waters were teeming with tropical fish and Michael was great at pointing out things our eyes missed. Next we headed south to the small seaside village of Yelapa. Once there, Michael led us on a moderately challenging hike to a breathtaking waterfall tucked deep in the jungle. It was an incredible payoff for our efforts. After we hiked back down we enjoyed a delicious beachfront lunch at a local restaurant. With just our small group, Michael was able to customize the tour to our interests. His passion for nature and conservation was obvious through his nonstop commentary. Both Michael and Raphael were attentive hosts, making sure we were safe, informed, and having a great time. For an intimate and educational ecotour experience in Puerto Vallarta, I can't recommend Ecotours highly enough. Our day trip was the highlight of our vacation. Michael's expertise and enthusiasm made this a 5-star tour.

Great combo of hiking, swimming and snorkeling - We had a great time with Michael, who is an excellent naturalist guide. Our younger son got sick during the trip and Michael quickly helped adapt things so he could rest until we headed back to town. We didn’t realize w rainy season the water wasn’t quite as clear in some areas but Michael adapted well to that as well, finding us great snorkeling areas. Highly recommend!

A lovely day! - Went on this excursion today with two other people. Our guide Michael was knowledgeable about all the flora and fauna, he made us feel welcome and allowed us to all go at our own pace. You go on a rigorous hike to a beautiful beach where you snorkel. I personally found the current to be a bit intense so I sat that out and enjoyed the beautiful beach. The other folks loved the snorkeling. You had an option of taking a water taxi back (100 pesos) or hike back. Michael had a well stocked cooler with trail mix, granola bars, sandwiches, fruit, juice, pop and soda. Some advice to any guests: 1. Dress in light comfortable clothing 2. Wear heavy duty shoes (no flip flops) 3. Take water (Michael provided) 4. Make it your own! If you want to go slow please do! If the snorkeling is too intense, enjoy the beach and scenery! No pressure at all! 5. You do carry the snorkeling gear so I would suggest a very small bag with sunscreen, bug spray, towel and charger that you can put in the bag with gear. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Amazing - We had an amazing time with the knowledgeable and delightful Ecotours guides. We saw monarch butterfly sanctuaries, humpback whales, baby sea turtles, military macaws and so much more. Mexico is magical, especially when you have trained biologists guiding you to the best sites.

Beautiful - I really love this company EcoTours of Mexico. I felt very catered to, my guide Fernando Romo and our Sea Captain Martine were extremely caring, wanting to be sure the Snorkelling spot was good, we actually were able to go to two spots! Fernando was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the fish and wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything! Not only did I get to learn about fish, I got to learn about rock formations as well. The tour was very thorough, relaxing, beautiful, super fun. I really love the time and energy that is put into everyone having an amazing experience. Thank you soo much!

Simply the best! - Went on Thursday, March 5th. Michael was our guide. Folks, he's absolutely wonderful and amazing!!! He is so knowledgeable abour his country and loved sharing all of it with us! The scenery is stunning, the hike was a great workout, and the Colomitos Beach is so beautiful!! As our way of thanking Michael, we took him out for lunch at one of his favorite restaurants on the beach. Oh my God, the food was AMAZING! No Americanized Mexican food here. The ceviche and the guacamole was amazing as well as the whole red snapper. I wish I could tell you the name of the place...I only have pictures. Do yourself a favor and ask for Michael to take you on this fantastic adventure! He's truly trying to save the Earth, one grain of sand at a time!!

Great tour! - We had Cynthia as our guide. It's a nice hike, some elevation changes, and with the recent rains some areas of the trail were a bit washed out, so a bit of a challenge to navigate, but wasn't too bad. Saw lots of iguanas and birds. Cynthia shared lots of interesting information about the trees and plants. The snorkeling was very nice, lots of different fish and a small sting ray, the beach has a stream that runs through from the mountains, very pretty area. Lunch was very good and we had lots of snacks and water if we needed. Highly recommend taking this tour to see outside the city.
