Excellent tour!! - We had a great time on the Vallarta by Road Tour with Bernardo. The stops included a great variety of food to try from spots we wouldn't have found on our own. Since it was a driving tour, we were able to see much more of the area than we would have just walking. Bernardo was an incredible tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the foods and places we visited. I highly recommend this tour!

We really enjoyed Vallarta by Road food tour - Excellent food tour, guide was very informative and engaging and the food was delicious. I will point out that there are several places in the description of this tour that say that there are 7 stops and there are actually only 6. There was plenty of food though, everyone was stuffed at the end. This is a driving tour with limited walking required so it’s an excellent choice for people with limited mobility

Vallarta By Road + Bernardo = 100000000+ Stars! - I was on a cruise with my 76 year old mother and my two sisters. A few weeks prior, I emailed Vallarta Food Tours to ask if there was any chance they could do a van tour on a day where they usually do not. My mom, who is a fit and active 76, is awaiting knee-replacement surgery and couldn't do a three-hour walking tour. Honestly, I had no expectations... that's a big ask and it would have been fine for Vallarta to say 'nope.' Alas, within hours, Paul wrote back and opened up the van tour for us. How kind! Still, my expectations were limited. I have fun wherever I go. Let me be clear - Bernardo and this tour were the HIGHLIGHT of our trip! It was the best day of the entire trip. I'd give them 100 stars if I could. Bernardo is smart, kind, engaging, and exudes this thoughtful energy that makes you want to hear his stories and knowledge. Each and every place we ate was phenomenal. The paletas at the end... yes please. He knew every corner of PV and its environs. The restaurant and taco stand owners clearly like Bernardo as much as we do. Everyone lights up when he walks in a room. Even hearing him talk about the Vallarta Food Tours owners and their kindness, makes you happy. We should all have great employers and all bosses should have such awesome staff. When in PV, I can't recommend Bernardo and Vallarta Food Tours enough. Thanks, Paul and Bernardo!

Excellent food. Great guide. Wonderful city. - I’ve taken many Vallarta Food Tours over the years & today’s “Original Downtown Tour” led by Joana was one of the best. In addition to tasting the mostly taco tour, we met the owners of the family run stands and restaurants, learned about licensing, the history of PV, and the forward thinking mayor who welcomed “romantics” to the city. Who knew that there are “morning” tacos and different “night” tacos and that the average family eats 2.2 kg of tortillas/day - approx 11 tacos each? Well done, Joana!

Great tour! - This food tour was a hit! It said to come hungry, and after stopping at so many wonderful places, we left stuffed and happy. Joana is a wonderful tour guide. Personable, kind, and very accommodating. She was able to alter a few dishes to help with dietary needs to make it pleasant for everyone in our group. She is knowledgeable of the area and the restaurants we visited, explaining the history of each dish and why we were tasting it. Highly recommend!!!

Great tour - We had a great time on this tour! We took this tour as a shore excursion and we didn't realize until about 15 minutes before we were supposed to meet them that we were supposed to meet them on Puerto Vallarta time not ship time (ship time was 1 hr behind shore time so we thought we had plenty of time). They were very quick to respond and said no problem, go ahead and get off the ship when you can and we will be waiting for you. Joana was our guide and she was very thoughtful, knowledgeable and kind as was the driver. They picked us up in a nice airconditioned van and took us to 7 different locations. We tried shrimp tacos, goat tacos, torta ahogada and some of the best cheesecake we have had anywhere! We also toured a working Panderia which was interesting and fun. Our group of 13 were between the ages of 25-83 yrs old and all of them commented on how good the tour was. Do not eat before you go on this tour because you will be really full by the time you are through. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding! Thank you Joana for taking us on such a great tour,

Great tour - Very nice experience for the food and a minor history lesson on each of the items that we were eating. Miel Garcia was a fantastic guide. My wife and I enjoyed our time with the group.

Excellent experience - We had an excellent tour with Miel! Really loved the variety of restaurants and neighborhoods included. Appreciated visiting small family-owned restaurants in working class neighborhoods. Owners were very accommodating of our toddler, and the “road” tour allowed grandparents to participate more easily than they could have with a walking or bike tour. Great family option.

One of the best things I did in PV. - Our guide Miel was amazing. Her English was outstanding and she was very knowledgeable on the local history, culture and the impact that that two factors had on the Mexican food. She was entertaining, accommodating, funny and all around pretty perfect for the food tour. We learned so much and are planning one for next year. The food was really good and some of it was food I would have never tried on my own. I loved how passionate she was about Mexican cuisine and she did a great job of getting everyone to try everything. I highly recommend the tour.
