Perfect Day Trip - We had a wonderful tour guide/driver, Gustavo. He was caring and full of information about Mexican as well as Aztec culture. Great drive up the highway and stopped a couple of places on the way to El Tuito…nice shop with a cafe (fantastic coffee) and tourist shop filled with all kinds of offerings. El Tuito was interesting and made more so by Gustavo’s information. We did a quick tour around the town square then a walk to a local gallery filled with wonderful artwork. On the way back to Puerto Vallarta, we stopped at the botanical gardens for lunch at the fantastic restaurant and a quick walk about. There was another stop on the way back to our condo, but we finished up with the trip at the gardens. A wonderful day trip!

Vallarta Botanical Garden - Great tour. Very informative. So many different types of plants. What made the tour great was our tour guide, Ruby. She has a great personality, funny, very knowledgable regarding plants, and the small animals and birds that inhabit the garden. You learn about the plants and herbs that are used for wellness. There are so many varieties and colors of Orchids. Beautiful tropical garden. It's a very large garden. The restaurant at the gardens is wonderful. The food was great!! The people that work in the garden and the restaurant are so nice. Great trip, worth taking the tour.!

day trip tours - El Tuito: We booked this tour from our resort. Freddy was our tour guide. We were picked up from the resort and taken to their home base in Puerto Vallarta where there were some transfers for some for other tours. Freddy is knowledgeable about the area and pointed out various things. We had a stop downtown to visit a jewelry and bathroom break, then another stop at a bakery shop. El Tuito is a small town and there we stopped at a church and then walked to a tortilla factory and the downtown city hall. Our next stop was at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens. There we were given about 90 minutes to browse around. You could probably spend a day here. There are some good hiking paths here and everything looked well maintained. On the drive back we stopped at another small town and had lunch there. Then short tours at a tequila factory and coffee factory. We were dropped off directly at our resort after. We'd recommend the tour for others. Our tour group was small and the van ride was very comfortable. The only negative is that the jewelry shop, lunch, tequila and coffee stops were the same ones that their Puerto Vallarta City tour also covers (we did that one as well).

Many sights to see and Passionate guides - Adrian, our tour guide was wonderful! He had great enthusiasm and energy. The driver was very good too. And the Tequila master was very funny, passionate and engaging. The lunch, though not included and quite pricey was delicious and we had the place to ourselves as a group. The tour seemed a little long though and it should have mentioned to bring a snack as well. All in all we were very happy!

An enjoyable day out - Pick up was from a nearby hotel (5 mins walk) at 9.00am This was followed by a bus ride to the marina where we were all sorted and placed on our appropriate bus. We set off to a store specialising in local Opals ( they are mined in the area). This was a little frustrating as it had taken over an hour to get 2 minutes walk from where we had originally been picked up! We set off towards El Tuito and called in at an organic coffee grower and roaster. The coffee was good (great) but only a thimble full (sales opportunity) next we were off to the Botanic garden. This is really pretty and an hour is not quite enough for a complete look around. Next off to the tequila distillery. Lunch is quite small but you can pay extra and get upgraded fare (and bigger), I had fish tacos and the fish was cooked perfectly. tequila can actually taste really really good! next was the roadside bakery where you can buy filled bread, i tried banana, blackberry and chocolate- the banana was the best. Next El Tuito. A collection of buildings painted in the town colors, burgundy and beige, a huge fig tree and ......... our guide was brilliant. he spoke very good English, knew medicinal uses of most of the plants we saw and was fun to be with

Good informative Tour - Enjoyed this tour. Visited village and walked around while our guide Jorge told us some history and visited tortilla making bakery. Tequila tasting and a nice lunch then a stop at the botanical gardens which were beautiful. Agree with some other comments would liked to have skipped jewellery store and coffee shop as waste of time and spend more time at gardens. Jorge was very informative and interesting and made sure we were all comfortable and had enough breaks etc. Well worth the money.

Hidden Mexico: El Tuito Day Tour - Jorge, our tour director, was outstanding and really made the trip. His knowledge of the area and his environmental efforts are to be commended. The stop at a little, almost out-door bakery was a pure delight. If they have pineapple filled goods, buy one...or more. The filled bread was warm and delicious. Then back on the van for a trip to the Botanical Gardens. His walk through the garden was very informative, and I would have liked to have spent more time there. Then off to a tequila factory also interesting. It was a very small, family-owned (I believe) factory where generous samples were given to those interested. Then off to a delicious, large "lunch" which we ordered before the tequila experience. After lunch on to a very small coffee factory where a very, very small sample of cold coffee was served in mini-mini -minimug. That part of the tour deserved no stars. Period. Sometime during the tour we stopped in El Tuito, a very lovely and interesting village. Spent some time in the plaza and city hall, which we enjoyed. I'd prefer to not go to the coffee factory and to spend more time in the gardens. All in all, a very interesting day and I would still recommend it. Suggestion...maybe they could shuffle the day around so lunch is served earlier as it was quite late. Not the fault of the restaurant but we got there so late in the day.
