Setting Sail to Yelapa

The sun was just beginning to rise over Puerto Vallarta as I boarded the boat for the Yelapa and Majahuitas Day Tour. The anticipation of a day filled with snorkeling, exploring, and relaxation was palpable among the passengers. As a former professional surfer, the ocean has always been my playground, and today promised to be no different.

The crew welcomed us with warm smiles, offering coffee and orange juice to kickstart our adventure. Back on the beach, a friendly dog decided to join me on my towel, adding a touch of local charm to the day. Lunch was a delightful affair under the shade of palm trees, with grilled chicken, BBQ ribs, and ceviche on offer. The open bar provided a refreshing selection of beer and cocktails, perfect for sipping as the waves lapped at the shore.

The only downside was the swim to the beach, which meant leaving my camera behind. The luxurious beach furniture and jungle-set bathrooms were a sight to behold, and I wished I could capture the moment. But sometimes, the best memories are those we hold in our minds.

A Rockin’ Return

As the day drew to a close, we set sail back to Puerto Vallarta. The crew, ever the entertainers, put on a rock show that had everyone laughing and singing along. Their energy was infectious, and it was clear they loved what they did. I couldn’t help but feel grateful for their hard work and dedication to making our day unforgettable.

Tipping is always a personal choice, but I was surprised to see some passengers offering only a few coins after such a fantastic experience. The crew deserved every bit of the $30 tip I gave, and more.
