great people, good food, community oriented. 100% reccomend! - Cha Cha was such a wonderful tour guide! So knowledgeable about the community and history - I enjoyed learning about the meaning behind the food. You can tell she truly cares about her community and wants to share that joy with others! The food was delicious and good variety (I wasnā€™t sick of tacos by the end) and we got to try different flavor of agua frescas at each stop - I was pretty full by the end and glad it was a walking tour! I also appreciated the reusable cups and thoughtfulness into trying to keep waste down. This woman owned, Mexican owned company also donates a portion of the profits to the local food bank on a monthly basis.

BEST food tour in Puerto Vallarta! - Our tour guide, Chacha, was SO knowledgeable about food, the local area, and the history of Mexico. She brought us to a bunch of local spots, all family-run businesses. The food itself was amazing, and it was so cool to learn the stories not only behind what we were eating but also the people that were making our meals. If you want to learn more about Mexicoā€™s history and culture while supporting locals, this would be perfect for you!!

Great walking food tour!! - Cha Cha was our guide and she was OUTSTANDING!! My wife and I wanted to do a food tour this time when we were in Mexico and we found Vallarta Local. The only Mexican and Women owned tour in Puerto Vallarta. Cha Cha was not only informative about the food, but the cultural history as well. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to try the local food and learn about the history of Puerto Vallarta.

Local Food Tour with History Lesson - Great Tour. Highly Recommend. 3-hours, easy walking. Cha Cha, the tour guide, was a wealth of information about the food and the culture. All of the eateries were in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood, east of Zona Romantica. Visited food stands and restaurants where the locals eat. Ā±7 tastings, all delicious. By the time you are done, you are full. Started with Churros (street stand) then had a fish taco (street stand), followed Pozole and a Taco at Dona Chela Cocina. We then had Al Pastor tacos at Tres Gueras (the best), followed by Cabeza Tacos (street stand). You are given a choice of what part of the head you would like to try - cheek, tongue, neck, lips (I tried the cheek). We finished with an Asada or Chicken Quesadilla (street stand) and then got ice cream. In addition to the history lesson, we learned about Sobremesa - the tradition of relaxing at the table after a meal. I am guessing the tour changes a little each time, however, I doubt you can go wrong no matter where the eateries are.

Where culture, history and food converge. - We met Chacha (Adrianna) promptly at 5pm at the specified destination in the booking confirmation. Right away we were enamoured with her warm and friendly personality that exuded an absolute passion for what she does, her country, PV and its history and culture. The tour included long-term and established family street vendors and restaurants. Each has their own unique story that ties the ownership to the community and culture of PV. Some venues are over 30 years old. Iconic in their fixed space and known by the locals. We started off with Churros. Not a Mexican or Spanish original, but that of the Portuguese. That was a surprise! The churros were delicate and not over-coated with sugar and cinnamon. From there it was an evening of tacos with fresh ingredients of beef, pork, chicken, maui maui, beans, ciltantro, pineapple, onion, cucumber, cheese and more. There were many salsas to choose from offering mild and hot options, made by each family. We had sopa at one venue, which was made with a type of corn grown specifically for this sopa, which was traditionally used for ceremonies and early-on customs. An array of wonderful non-alcoholic beverages complimented the cuisine and cleansed our pallets in preparation for what came next. They also provided us great relief from the hot evening air. We learned a lot about Mexican history, culture and customs and even more about PV itself. I can see why it has evolved into a cultural seaside mecca that offers something for everyone amongst the quaint cobblestone streets, the little casas donning simple but artistic exteriors, and the backdrop of the lush green mountains. THIS is a tour you won't want to miss. Everything is well re-searched and the delivery, impeccable. There are other tours offered by this all-women family business and we'll be taking those too. What a find! Thank you Chacha. We'll see you on our next trip back.

Fun, energetic storytelling while eating food. - This was an amazing outing with delicious food, friends and local food. Karla was our guide and she is full of energy, a great story teller and overall a fun person to be around. The tour went through different neighborhoods where the locals eat and it was the tastiest spots. The history of the business we visited as well as the area was naturally weaved in to her story telling. Highly recommended and especially to go early in your stay because it will help you understand the food and area better.

Incredibly knowledgeable and fun guide for taco tour! - Our group of 4 friends went with our guide Carla on the taco tour. She was so informative, friendly, and welcoming. She took us to local places we would not have known to seek out on our own and was so knowledgeable and awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend others support this only Mexican-owned (and women owned) food tour in PV.
