Into the Heart of El Yunque

The day began with a sense of anticipation as I joined a group of fellow adventurers, ready to explore the lush landscapes of El Yunque National Forest. Our guides, Jason and Luis, were the perfect companions for this journey, exuding a blend of enthusiasm and expertise that set the tone for the day. As we made our way to the forest, a quick stop at Walgreens was a welcome surprise, allowing us to grab any last-minute essentials.

The hike itself was a delightful challenge, a dance with nature that required both agility and a sense of adventure. After the morning’s exertions, we were ready for a well-deserved break. Our lunch stop at El Famboyán Original was a feast for the senses, offering a taste of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. The outdoor seating provided a perfect backdrop to relax and savor the flavors, with the gentle breeze carrying the scent of the ocean. It was a moment to connect with fellow travelers, sharing stories and experiences that added to the richness of the day.

The transition from the rainforest to the coastal town of Fajardo was seamless, thanks to our guide Felix, who ensured we arrived in time for the next leg of our adventure. The excitement was palpable as we prepared for the bioluminescent bay kayak tour, a unique opportunity to witness one of nature’s most magical phenomena.

Paddling Through the Stars

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we embarked on our kayak journey through the mangrove channels leading to Laguna Grande.
