This is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System, and one that every traveler to Puerto Rico must see! Over 28,000 acres of mountains, cliffs, several streams and waterfalls, all contiguous, form this Forest.
As a verified permit holder to the Rainforest, you won’t just be on the outskirts. We give you full access to the forest, including its trails, waterfalls, and tower.

El Yunque Park - We booked a Rainforest Tour during our stay in Old San Juan and had Raphael as our driver/tourguide. We have been on many tours and excursions but this one was exceptional. I think Raphael may have been the best guide we have ever encountered. He was friendly, considerate and knowledgeble, we enjoyed him considerably.

Birthday experience - The tour guide George and driver Luis were very nice in explaining and giving the tour. It made the experience very satisfying.

El Yunke rainforest - The dip in the river was very refreshing. The guide, Monica was very knowledgeable. Our driver, Javier, was very safe.

Phenomenal - Our tour guide was absolutely phenomenal and added so much to the trip. My favorite part was the water activity, but I wish we thought to get water proof cases.

Entertaining - Our tour was very laid back and easy. If you can walk a mile without stumbling or getting short of breath you'll be fine on this tour. It was like walking in the woods with friends. It was only one 1 mile wooded trail with optional swimming. Waterfalls and slides are not as glamorous as they appear in advertisement pictures. However, it's nice and entertaining.
Research your prices I almost booked this tour for $125 with another company. I got this tour for $78. It had the same itinerary and similar description just a different company name and pictures.
Our guide was a pleasant man but I told him twice I needed to go to the bathroom and he never stopped. I suppose he forgot, we're all human. I was very unhappy 😡 the last hour.

Total disappointment - Booked the El Yunque rainforest tour through Virgin Cruises; Rico Sun Tours was the operator of the shore excursion. We spent most of the day (5 hours) either on the tour bus or at the park concession stand (1 1/2 hours). Did not have an opportunity to do any hiking in the rainforest or go swimming, as promised. Total disappointment and waste of time. Recommend finding another tour operator.
