The best part of our holiday! - We booked on to Afrikat through our Jet2 rep as a recommendation by some good friends who had previously been customers, and we were not disappointed! We were collected by a transfer and arrived to Puerto Rico to be greeted by Duncan. He is one hell of a character and the life of the party! He greeted everybody on to the boat, ensured we were comfortable, then offered drinks and a snack. We sailed along the coast to a tranquil spot, where we were then offered the chance to participate in a range of water sports and a swim. There was everything for everyone; jet skis, speed boats and parasailing. We paid ten euros each to get whizzed across the sea on the donut! We belly-laughed all the way through it! Because we had paid for the donut ring, we also got a chance on the speed boat for free. The drinks included were self-service Amstel beer, wines, sangria, water and soft drinks! The lunch was really nice too. There were no complaints. On the way back to Puerto Rico, we were surprised by a saxophonist named Ash. That's when the party really got started and we were dancing away. Ash was lovely and a pleasure to speak with. I also appreciated that the boat was not overcrowded. Usually with these things it's about numbers, but Afrikat appears to strive for exclusivity and pleasure rather than profit. This is ideal for those who don't like being surrounded by heavy groups. This trip was both refreshing and an adventure. We loved taking a dive into the crystal clear coastal waters, and equally radiating underneath the hot sun. Paired with mesmerising scenery as well as a view of Tenerife's El Teide - the Afrikat will be the highlight of your holiday. Big shout out to all the staff. They appear to all really enjoy their job. Duncan spent a lot of time chatting to us, sharing stories and tips/tricks. He is passionate about the company and about Gran Canaria. Thank you again. Overall, this is the best boat trip I have been on in the Canary Islands and is a must for those looking to combine chill and adventure!

Amazing! - What a great excursion ! The pick up bus was not great but once we got to the port it couldn't have been better. From the amazing host Duncan with his wit and banter, to the comfort, safety and bottomless drinks, excellent lunch and unhurried, relaxing downtime, we had the best day out. Been on many a boat trip but this was the absolute best ever. Thoroughly recommended.

Best boat in GC - Myself and the wife booked the Afrikat mid Sept after hearing so many good things about it online and from our Jet2 rep. The trip was great from start to finish, picked up on time with no hassle. The boat was lovely, very smooth sailing and not overcrowded at all. The crew were all fantastic. Everyone was extremely friendly and good fun. Food was good and the unlimited drinks were mainly self service once underway which was perfect. Lots enjoyed discounted water sports, we took the little speedboat trip and enjoyed the swim in a nice little cove. Overall we were really happy with the trip. We always look for a boat trip on holiday, and we cant wait to book again next time we are in GC. Big thank you to the crew, we had a great time.

Relaxing - I was about 2 weeks ago in Gran Canaria on holiday with my boyfriend. We are an Italian couple. At the hotel we were given an envelope of Alpitour excursions available to book on the island and one of them was the Afrikat catamaran, so we decided to take advantage of this experience. The excursion has a cost of 75 € per person with transfer included, so much so that they picked us up directly from our hotel in Playa del Ingles and took us with a coach along with other people from other hotels to the port of Puerto Rico where from there we would board the catamaran, and vice versa after the trip they brought us back to base. All in all it was a nice experience we left around 9.30 in the morning we had a quiet moment of sailing up to a point where the catamaran stopped to give the opportunity to do extra activities, not included in the price and purchased separately, or just sunbathing or experience the thrill of taking a swim in the ocean. The catamaran was stationary at this point until about 1 pm where we were also served lunch on board, a bit skimpy given the price of everything, it was simply a tortilla with a little chicken vegetables and sauce inside and some side potato. Nothing to say instead about the drinks that were unlimited, they had given us a glass, which then remained as a souvenir, which we could fill as many times as we wanted with anything from water, soft drinks, beer and sangria. After lunch another relaxing sailing tour and around 2 pm return to the port. In general we rate the experience beautiful and relaxing, perfect for those who want to relax a morning on the boat. For 75 euros, however, we would have liked to find a buffet with other food yes typical and most importantly we would have liked at least one of the guides to speak Italian! Or at least Spanish! And not just German, English and Dutch. Ok that English is now known everywhere but since the official language on the island is Spanish and the experience is also offered to a Spanish and Italian audience seemed the minimum. In fact, this unpleasant little detail influenced our experience a lot because we could interact very little.
