Into the Heart of Darkness

The sun had barely risen when my group of thrill-seekers and I set out for the Puerto Princesa Underground River, a place that had been whispered about in the adventure circles I frequent. Known as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, this underground river promised a journey into the heart of darkness, a place where the earth’s secrets lay hidden beneath layers of limestone.

Our journey began with a stop at a vista point overlooking the sea. The view was a breathtaking panorama of endless blue, a perfect prelude to the adventure that awaited us. As we stood there, the wind whipping through our hair, I couldn’t help but feel a familiar rush of adrenaline.
