One of the best and affordable excursions in Puerto Plata! - Shoutout to DR Prime Tours for such affordable and FUN tours seriously. It almost felt unreal after searching on get your guide and TripAdvisor to find things that worked on our dates of being in the DR. But we were grateful to have found this excursion!! The buggies experience was an absolute vibe, we stopped by the beach, did a cocoa + cigar plantation tour. Had mamajuana shots , and got to hang around some locals! The only thing I wish is that we would’ve been able to go a bit faster but I cannot complain lmao. Getting dirty and just this experience all in all was very fun, I highly recommend

Great value buggy experience! - This was a super fun experience! The guides were great, the trails were fun to ride on. The cigar stop was fun and informative! Trails were dry on the day we went, still be prepared to get nice and wet with river crossings. We’ll be back for sure and hope for good muddy trails next time😁 If you’re cruising, book through these guys you can’t beat the value!

Super muddy lol... - The guides were great. Had a really great experience. Got really dirty so bring a change of clothes. The beach time could be a little longer however overall great excursion. Also really close to the curse port.

Great experience! - This was such a fun experience. Prepare to be the dirtiest you have ever been. We brought a dry bag and a change of clothes, which was really nice to have after the ride. They said it was supposed to be like 2 hours but we were picked up at 9 and not back to the port until 1ish. Overall it was absolutely fabulous and so much fun. Just prepare to get very muddy!

Self booked excursion at cruise port - Absolutely recommend this tour! Walter and everyone involved were absolutely amazing! Remember to bring clean dry clothes because you will get dirty! This was definitely the most fun excursion we had on our trip!! Thank you guys!! We can’t wait to see the pictures!!

Worth the Price - A lot of fun - plan to get wet and muddy for sure!! First time doing an excursion like this and will definitely do it again. Beware of shopping at “The Jungle” - prices are higher than at the port.

Awesome Experience But Be Prepared - The super buggy tour is AMAZING!!! First we got outfitted with our helmet and goggles and the complimentary water phone case and bandana. Trust me, you need the water case and bandanna and may even want to bring an extra! Then we rode through town for a little bit, got to stop at a local village and smoked a cigar and took mamajuanna shots. After that we headed through the jungle and this is where the real fun happens LOL We got to drive through a handful of rivers and even saw some cows and horses and dogs. But for the most important part of the review know that you WILL GET DIRTY. Even driving slow with the super buggy the dirt flies and the dirt from fellow drivers wheels fly as well. The river water splashes really high so be prepared to be soaked head toe. Personally this is what made the tour such an adventure and my friends and I LOVED it. They also give you an opportunity to clean up before heading back at the beach and after getting back in their showers and changing rooms. The staff were really friendly and super helpful too. I would rate the tour 5/5 if I was adequately prepared for how immersed you get in the jungle but all in all no regrets :)

This tour is not for everyone! - So we'll start with the challenge of doing business with them: I booked the dune buggy tour with friends in late January. I received a confirmation e-mail confirming our reservation at $139, When we got there 3-1/2 weeks later, they told me I had cancelled it. I did NOT cancel this reservation, as we were going with 3 other couples. They insisted that I cancelled. Had that been the case, I would have gotten an e-mail stating that it was cancelled. Anyway, in order to take the tour, they charged us $170,! So my husband put it on his CC. Subsequently when I got my CC statement, they DID CHARGE my card!. Husband got his and they charged him the $170. too! maybe a scam? Doing business in any of these islands, one must be aware. There is no disputing it with them once you get home. A warning to anyone with back, hip, knee, neck issues, this is a rough ride! You hammer at top speed going thru the muddy waters which can be near the size of a pond! If you enjoy being soaked to the skin in muddy water, goggles covered in mud so you can't see out of them and a soaking wet bandana wet over your mouth and can't breath, then I suppose it's fun. My driver hit the first muddy rut top speed and I got soaked from head to toe with this icky mud! My friends told me I was having fun, but I would never do it again. The stops were for cigars; chocolate and coffee. They were served in about a 1/2 oz thimble! What a joke. The stop is just to rinse your arms and legs with some water, and they try to sell you paintings, no thanks. The next stop was the beach which was littered and dirty. You get to wade in the water to rinse off mud and stay wet and then you're covered in seaweed. The picture shows you can drive on the beach, but you can't. Misleading. The return trip is back through another 30-40 minutes of mud and jarring ruts and huge bumps. Total time in muddy water ruts is 3 HOURS!!! So, if this sounds good to you, be careful when you sign up so you don't get taken for more money. But for me I say it is not for everyone! The ad also says a free waterproof phone case, but they only gave us one per buggy. we had to argue to get the second one. Poor customer service. The guides were ok, nothing over and above what you'd expect. They got us back to the ship on time.
