• Puerto Maldonado - Participants will gather at the designated meeting point to embark on an exciting full-day journey in the Tambopata National Reserve. The adventure begins with a 45-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River, leading to a 3-km trek through the lush tropical rainforest, culminating at the stunning Sandoval Lake.

Upon arrival at the lake, which is home to piranhas and diverse wildlife, a rowboat excursion will offer an opportunity to closely observe the local fauna. Participants may spot birds such as cormorants, jacanas, and puma herons, as well as howler monkeys, woodpeckers, sloths, and, with some luck, giant otters or caimans.

After the exploration, a well-earned break will be taken to savor a delicious traditional lunch: juane, a dish made with rice, chicken, eggs, and olives, all wrapped in a bijao leaf.

The day will conclude with a return boat trip to Puerto Maldonado, marking the end of this memorable experience.
