An incredibly beautiful experience - For us, it was the most emotional experience of our trip! And it was very well organized. Mario, our driver and guide, was very nice and accommodating and the volunteer from the organization was also really nice! Absolutely recommended! It's also a great experience for children when they get to release a turtle. 😊

loved it/a little pricey - a must do in puerto escondido! we did this our first night in puerto & it was a great way to start the trip. we loved our driver Polo too! Only thing this activity is priced a little higher than through some other providers, you can likely find a better rate.

Baby Turtle release - This was a wonderful experience, probably my favorite adventure of the trip. My family loved it, too, and I got some great pictures. The custodian of the turtles explained (in Spanish) the operation to us. It was a beautiful location and a real treat to be a part of the efforts to preserve this species. Roberto was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the process in English for those who needed a translation. I highly recommend this excursion.

What happened? - I imagined that we would be releasing turtles (multiple turtles) and we got one little baby to release. The thing that had me scratching my head was 1) the van was quite late (20-30 minutes) to pick us up (with the excuse of traffic) and 2) after hustling us to get the turtles released and get back into the van we waited for another 15 minutes outside a hotel with no communication from the driver wondering what was happening. Turns out they were picking up people for another tour and we had to sit on laps in order to fit all the other people in the van. Simple addition would have told the organizers that there was insufficient space and they could have planned for it. If someone had explained why we were waiting at the hotel that would have made a difference as well.
