Had a great time on the (much more than a...) culinary tour - This is a fun, well-paced culinary tour of Puebla. We walked, we snacked, we walked some more. Our guide, Ronnie, was as well-versed in the food side of the city as historical. He had a lot of great ideas for where to eat, which museums to visit and more. Highly recommended. Note that to find the tour, the instructions are really confusing—ignore the bit about the bronze miniature map of the city. Just go to the Puebla tourism office. When you enter the door, the city's public tourist office is to the left. Look to your right and you'll see some small booths with private tour operators. Tip Tours is in the far right corner.

A great way to experience the food and history of Puebla. - My husband grew up in Puebla, but loves and misses the food. We enjoyed visiting many historical places around the historical center of the city. We visited 5 different restaurants and tried a variety of food. Yes, there was a lot of walking, but it was nice as it provided a good way to see the city and also to digest a bit before the next restaurant. Our guide was very good. I was a little surprised when purchasing the tour that for a Spanish language tour it was $50, but for an English language tour it was $70. We took the Spanish tour, and I think it was well worth the price. I thought we were going to be giving a cook book, but we weren't. I'm sure we can get recipes online.

Best way to get to know Puebla! - We had a wonderful tour with Ronnie. He is clearly passionate and extremely well informed about his city and is proud to introduce it to visitors. Ronnie really made us feel at home from the very beginning. At the start of the tour, he took us to his favorite bakery to try some delicious tamales and traditional bread. We then visited a local market for a quesadilla, a quaint restaurant for the different types of mole, and a popular spot for tacos al arabe. This was all between walking around historic Puebla, trying traditional Puebla snacks and dulces. Ronnie also gave us some wonderful recommendations for dinner, drinks, shopping, etc. It was a wonderful way to really experience this beautiful city and should be the first stop for any one coming to visit Puebla. Would highly recommend!

you will walk. and you will eat. - Our guide, Jose Luiz, was a character unto himself, maybe 70 with a nice walking stick. While very informative of each location and restaurant, he was also a joy to listen to with jokes and funny stories to fill the walk. He answered all of our questions, both in Spanish for me and then English for my wife. We got to sample several different foods in various places. All were excellent. Our guide let us decide what to try and explained the spiciness level so that it wasn’t overpowering. We also went to areas that were off the beaten path and really showed us life outside the tourist area. This was a tour my wife wanted to take and I was not too keen on going. To my surprise, I really enjoyed myself and our time with Jose Luiz. I highly recommend this tour…

Wonderful tour - Alejandra gave us a very nice gastronomic tour of the historic district. We were able to taste a wide variety of local foods and got tips on some of the better, lesser known places that we’ve already tried and are very happy with.

Getting to Know Puebla’s Culinary History - I’m a vegetarian and was wondering if they would be able to accommodate me. And I was surprised how professional the tour guide was. Miguel was very flexible and even went beyond his normal routine. He brought me to Super Mole Belen to see how they prepare their mole and to tip it off he also brought me to Exconvento de Santa Rosa where Sor Asunción prepared the very first Mole Podlano. Of course, I paid for my entrance as it was not included in the excursion. But, Miguel thank you so much for all the trouble. I will never forget the experience . I would have given you seven stars if they would allow it.

Fun but maybe too long - Really enjoyed walking around and chatting with our guide. I enjoyed trying the food from Puebla or at least the Poblano version of things. I think it would have been more interesting to spend time in a market talking about ingredients specific to the food. Additionally, we didn't try mole which is a specialty of Puebla and probably the most famous one. But overall, had a good time.
