Fantastic and picturesque truffle hunting experience - Fantastic experience with Samuelle and of course Lordy the lovely truffle hunting dog! Samuelle picked up my partner and my father and I from the centre of Assisi and drove us out to his house where we met his Italian pointer dog Lordy. Lordy was a lovely friendly dog but with a clear talent for finding truffles! We set out on a walk through the hills - the views were stunning!! And Samuelle did a fantastic job pacing the walk for us as a group as well as explaining in excellent English lots of facts about the area and of course truffles! We were very lucky to find 5 truffles during our walk - 4 white ones and one black truffle. Samuelle really enabled us all to get involved and excited in the truffle hunting and discovery experience with each and every find! We can’t wait to try some of the recipes Samuelle suggested with our truffles when we get back to the UK. Thank you!

A memorable truffle morning! - I loved my morning out in the countryside. We walked among the olives and ginestra (broom?) and Samuele told us about the different types of truffle, how they are found and even provided some recipes. Lorde, the Bracco pointer, did his job and found several small truffles in spite of the rain. He indicates the spot then you dig with a special tool – with Samuele’s help. I’ve never cooked with fresh truffles and am looking forward to trying it! I was glad I had my walking shoes with me, but they have some gear if needed. This was a fantastic thing to do - especially when overwhelmed by frescoes! - and it was lovely to meet Samuele and hear a little about the family’s smallholding.

Truffle Hunt Dream Come True - What an amazing adventure truffle hunting near Assisi. The family was so welcoming, helpful, and fun! The hunting dog was full of character, too. We found several truffles and were served lovely refreshments. Wear sturdy shoes and long pants as you're going to be exploring the wonderful Umbrian woodlands for the ultimate prize - the (white) truffle!

Just brilliant- would certainly book AGAIN! - Truffle hunting was an activity my children (10, 8 & 7 years) looked forward to the most since we all love a bit of foraging. This experience did not disappoint- kids had an absolute blast thanks to Samuelle his incredibly knowledgeable dad and a "little" sniffing genius called Lord. We truly appreciated the consideration of terrain for the children and also the previous weather conditions (it rained a lot). I think it is so important the guide is also guided by your circumstances- which is exactly what happened. We were super lucky to find 2 lovely scorzone and the ever so prized white truffle too! We loved the fact we could keep this little treasure and enjoy it on fried eggs as per Samuelle's recommendation. We also very much enjoyed the little picnic snack afterwards and all the recipe recommendations. This was a wholesome experience and I would fully recommend this to anyone who is considering- just do it! And do bring suitable shoes (you cannot go wrong with decent ridges on your footwear ;) )

Authentic experience in Assisi - We really enjoyed the afternoon spent searching for truffles on this experience. The walk was pleasant and the experience was really surprising. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and generous with both their time and showing us their home and bees and other animals on their small holding. We loved the trip to Assisi and the whole experience and excitement of the truffle hunt was so much fun. We found a substantial number of truffles which we were lucky enough to be able to take home with us. This experience was very good value for money and a very authentic way to experience and see how life in Italy is. The hosts own an Airbnb and we enjoyed this experience so much that I would definitely return for another visit, hopefully to stay with them and to be able to stay for longer. They offered to take us to other sites and unfortunately we needed to get back to Firenze before dark, next time I would like to stay in the region to be able to explore it further. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Wonderful truffle hunt - Samu and his dos were perfect hosts! He taught us the best places to fund truffles and his dog found 4! We enjoyed walking the natural trails and Samu showed his passion for truffle haunting. His entire family welcomed us with open arms. This was truly an unforgettable experience! Grazie Samu!

Afternoon mushroom hunt - We had a great trip, really enjoyed the beutigul landscape. The father and son team were awsome guides that were knowledgable and patient with us. The dogs were superfriendly as wekl. Highly recommend

Educational and fun - We had a great time learning about the truffle hunting experience. We added on bee keeping which was very interesting and very hands on. A great addition to our excursion! Appreciated the time with this family and their passion for what they do.
