Our journey begins in Tropea, from where we will venture into the rural areas for a genuine encounter with local food and culture.

Our day kicks off with an enlightening tour of a local farm where we will interact with the flora and fauna at close quarters.

A leisurely stroll through the country lanes and vegetable plots will serve as a lesson in botany, cultivation techniques, and harvesting processes.

We will be introduced to the techniques involved in crafting the region’s favorite cheeses - Pecorino del Monte Poro and Ricotta.

In a hands-on pasta-making class, you’ll uncover tips and tricks to prepare your own pasta.

Having put in the hard work, we’ll then sit down to a heartening meal in the midst of serene rustic surroundings, living the true Mediterranean way.

An unforgettable experience - An unforgettable experience with Enzo and the friendly team at Monte Poro Masseria. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Calabria. We enjoyed finding out about the local area, the farm and how it operates. Enzo is professional, friendly and passionate about his local area and it’s traditions; keen to share it with his guests and give them the most authentic and enjoyable experience possible. We loved making the local pasta; chatting to Enzo as we did so and enjoying the stunning views around us. The food was delicious- the ricotta the best I have ever tasted. We were touring around Calabria so it was really helpful to chat with Enzo about our plans. He was so keen to ensure we had the best trip possible and went above and beyond the actual food experience, sending us a list of really helpful suggestions and links for the rest of our trip. I would highly recommend Enzo as a guide. With his kindness, passion and professionalism, he really made this a wonderful experience. Thank you, Enzo, and good luck with your business.

A wonderful experience! - Absolutely wonderful experience! Enzo was very passionate, professional, knowledgeable and friendly! We had an amazing time getting to know him! The location was beautiful and the owner Gabriel of Monte Poro Masseria was a pleasure to deal with. The food was amazing! We will definitely be back at Monte Poro Masseria and look forward to our next experience with Visit Mediterraneo! By the way the pasta shown below is the pasta WE made at the farm!

See the real Tropea! - I had such a wonderful time during this experience! Enzo is a passionate, knowledgeable and friendly guide. I had a tour of the farm with Enzo and the owner, then I was taught to make local pasta, which we ate for dinner, along with other delicious local dishes. Thank you Enzo for showing such care and for such a great time!

Passionate and knowledgeable guide for the Calabria region - DO NOT MISS! - Wow — what a day!! My partner and I spent a glorious day with Enzo traveling through Calabria. He was the perfect Italian guide - informative, fun, authentic and patient. We felt like we were traveling with an old friend. He is a proud Tropean and expert historian of “his” Calabria region. He spoke perfect English and spent the day answering our questions and explaining all aspects of Italian life. He took us on a tour of the beautiful Carida farm where we made ricotta cheese and pasta along side the local farmers. We picked figs, olives and walnuts directly from their trees while Enzo explained the history of farming in the Calabria region. We shared a traditional and delicious Calabrian meal with Enzo which was, in my opinion, one of the highlights of our vacation. We spent time talking/dining with the owner of the farm and even shared our family photos. Enzo served as the perfect interpreter throughout our conversation. Enzo took us to a local Olive Oil processing facility where we learned how to grow olives and produce olive oil. We also had a olive oil tasting, and were able to purchase Calabrian olive oil to take home to our friends and family. It was a “perfecto” day!

An authentic farm experience followed by a great lunch in a nice company! - We are a family of three (including our 6-year old son) from the Netherlands and we were joined by an Australian couple on their honeymoon for this all-day experience that we all thoroughly enjoyed! Our guide Enzo made it all very relaxed, though educational! We appreciated his friendliness and sense of humor, Enzo made sure that communication was flowing and were were chatting about everything that was of ineterst to us. The cheese-making expereince took place on the premises of a real business and our son is still talking about how great it was to see everything and do it first-hand. The pasta-making workshop was good fun and also a great introduction of the traditional local pasta variety that was later cooked for our lunch. The lunch itself was plentiful, with all sorts of local produce, mainly coming from the farm to include meat cuts, pecorino, ricotta, veggies, etc. I honestly had to skip dinner that day, as I was absolutelty full after that! We also stopped a couple of times to admire the most breathtaking views of Tropea and surroundings. All in all, it was a fantastic day and I also want to thank the owners of the farm for their warm hospitality. I recommend this experience to everyone who is interested to learn more about Calabria and the way of living there and Enzo is sure to customise that experience to your wishes and needs!

Wholesome experience - Fantastic hands on cheese making and pasta cooking class. Farm tour included, you literally see the produce from paddock to plate, being a part of the process, then you get to sit and enjoy the delicious products all made from ingredients coming directly from the farm or within the district. True local food experience. Our guide Enzo is entertaining and informative! Highly recommended.

Farm to Table Food Experience - We have been in Italy 3 1/2 weeks and this was the most amazing tour we were on!! Hands down Enzo is by far the BEST!! He is so knowledgeable of the area and he takes the time to give you invaluable information that you would not hear elsewhere. He is passionate about the area and it certainly shows. He is fun and very considerate. The tour itself is like non other!! From the farm to the hands on cheese making to the fantastic pasta making with Tita, and the most amazing meal you ever had!!! I can not say enough good things about this tour. If you are thinking of taking a tour in Tropea- THIS IS THE ONE TO TAKE! Thank you Enzo, it was an awesome day! Best excursion ever - Enzo our guide is amazing, such a lovely genuine gentleman. We dont normally do trips, just chill take each day as it comes but was looking forward to our trip. We were not disappointed! It's not a big tour it will be a small group. not rushed, Enzo speaks really good English and it really is a personal service, although it's more like a day with a really good friend. The farm experience was amazing! Diego was a great host and you get a truly wonderful experience provided by passionate people. If we had paid double it would still be excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Thank you Enzo and Diego for a quality experience. I wish you all the best for the future.

A fantastic introduction to an italiean farm. - A good lunch with local products and local wine. An experience to try making your own pasta and experience the production of cheese. And beautyfull wiews of the landscape around Tropea.

The Highlight of our Trip to Calabria - First of all, I almost canceled because my travel buddy was ill, but I decided to go anyway and I was so glad I did! Our guide, Enzo, was there to pick me up right on time and assured me and the other members that it would be an incredible day- and he was so right! Enzo made us feel comfortable as he escorted us up into the beautiful hills above Tropea, where this sustainable family farm has been in operation for generations. (Bring a camera and walking shoes, it's a real farm.) Enzo introduced us to the family members working while we were there- some in the kitchen, some in the fields, and some in the cheese production facility. We felt very welcomed, even though production was underway with the sheep's milk cheeses. I've never tasted fresher ricotta cheese- still warm! We also sampled pecorino, many antipasto delicacies, fresh olives from the groves, and so much more during our 4 course luncheon. The best part? OK, we learned to make fresh hand-made pasta, which was later served as part of our lunch, and it was delicious, prepared with the famous Cipollini onions. Yum! It was so much fun and- all the while Enzo told us more about the area he loves and calls home. I enjoyed this tour so much that my friend and I signed up for Enzo's walking tour of Tropea the next day- and that was fantastic too! He was full of information and was attentive to the multi-lingual group. We truly felt we had made a friend in Tropea. I heartily recommend this tour and guide.
