A long but very fulfilling day - Our day started with a 7.00 pick up from Cagliari. We were apprehensive about such a long trip to the north west of Sardinia. But our driver/guide Ricardo was excellent. He gave a great running commentary along the way and the countryside is fascinating. Alghero is a pretty little walled city but the highlight of the trip was the visit to Neptune’s Cave and the surrounding area by boat. After the boat trip and lunch there were visits to prehistoric sites. A Nuraghe and a prehistoric burial ground. We didn’t get back until 20.00 hrs but a very fulfilling day with excellent guiding. Not for those who tire easily but a great way to see a completely different side of Sardinia if you are based in Cagliari.
