Monte Cassino Battlefield Tour with Historian Guide Anna Priora - This small group tour was one of the most meaningful and memorable experiences of our trip to Italy. Guided by the exceptionally knowledgeable Anna Priora, we were taken through the history of the Battle of Monte Cassino with both scholarly insight and deep respect. The Experience: Travelling by a comfortable small bus after we took a train to Cassino from Rome, we visited several key sites including a panoramic viewpoint of the valley, the Commonwealth War Cemetery, and the Monte Cassino Abbey. At each location, Anna provided rich historical context, thoughtfully explaining the military strategies, sacrifices, and broader significance of the battle. What set this tour apart was the ample time allowed at each site and the opportunity to ask questions and engage in more in-depth conversations. Anna's ability to tailor her commentary to the group’s interests made the tour feel intimate and personalized. For our family, the experience was especially poignant—my father stood on the battlefield where his own father had fought. Monte Cassino tour - A brilliant tour around Cassino examining the positions of the Allies and the Axis forces during the 4 battles of 1944. Then a drive up to the famous monastery at Monte Cassino and a look round at the incredible restoration and rebuilding of the monastery after it was destroyed. The views were simply amazing. Anna was a great tour guide with so much information about the battles and was very accomodating for any requests during the tour. Thank you Anna!

Exceptional experience. - What a wonderful experience. Anna has so much information about what happened here. Not only is she a historian but she's a local and adds personal family information. She is so personable and friendly, the time just flies by. I would absolutely do a tour with her again and encourage anyone interested to do a tour with Anna.

Excellent tour of the Polish Battlefields - Anna was an amazing and very knowledgable on everything Cassino. The tailored tour catered for both someone with a keen interest in and someone with minimal knowledge the war, and Anna took the time to answer all of our questions as well as asking some of here owm, making the whole experience feel very personal. If you are looking for a tour of Cassino, then look no further than Anna!

Great tour! - Anna Priora is a brilliant tour guide. She provided a tremendous amount of background to the actual battle and highlighted various sites which allowed a visual perspective of the battlegrounds which added to the overall experience.. The tour material, as presented by Anna, was never boring and her continuing commentary was very informative. Great tour - Ana was an excellent Tour guide! She picked us up right on time and delivered us back to the train station on time. Travel by train from Rome was easy and tool 1:45 - 2 hours. One thing to note is that Cassino is unlike other European battlefield sites that I have been to in that there are not museums and battlefield relics (e.g., bunkers, artillery, tanks, etc) around the town of Cassino. So, this is more of tour that shows the overall view of where the battle took place. The view from the monestary is beautiful....

Anna’s Monte Cassino Battlefield Tour - Anna was an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge of the Monte Cassino Battlefield. This was the first guided battlefield tour I had been on and the experience was well worth it. Weeks later I am repeating the very moving anecdotes that Anna had told me during the tour.
