Charles III of Bourbon, who became king of Naples in 1734, chose to relocate the royal residence a few kilometers north of Naples. The task of designing the royal palace was entrusted to architect Luigi Vanvitelli, who created the largest royal palace in the world, a masterpiece nestled in a garden shaped like a violin. Today, it remains one of Italy’s most breathtaking sites, offering a timeless experience surrounded by opulence and art. Spanning five floors, the palace features an impressive 1200 rooms, each more magnificent than the last. Visitors are captivated by the grandeur of the monumental staircase, the Palatine Chapel, the Court Theatre, and the Throne Room.
