Private Hiking Tour Worth Every Dollar - I would give it more stars if possible (10 out of 5)! We told our guide a few days prior what types of things we would like to see and do and our activity level, that we were fine getting a little wet or dirty and climbing over things to see some great waterfalls and scenic views. We were NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! Eli Adams could not have done a better job. We hiked for 5 hours, walked through a couple streams, climbed over dead trees and over boulders and up and down to some amazing views and water falls. We did not want to do a public tour and maybe be limited to the rate/speed/agility of a group of unknowns. We made the right choice….not matter what your abilities are I’m sure this group will accommodate your abilities and show you some amazing things in this beautiful area.

Perfect Day in the Blue Ridge Mountains - We had a perfect day on our private tour with Ian. In discussing our preferences with Ian, he took us on a beautiful and off the beat and path hike to Sliding Rock. Ian was an amazing guide, incredibly smart, interesting and fun. After our great 6 mile hike, we went to Looking Glass Falls, a perfect spot to finish our day. My wife and I can’t say enough great things about Asheville Hiking Tours and Ian, who made our day special.

Paul is the BEST tour guide! - Loved our day with Asheville Hiking Tours and Paul! It was my second time to go hiking with Paul (first with a friend and then I brought my family back to spend the day!) I was a little concerned as we were traveling with four young people (age 14-20). I thought they might be bored, but Paul won them over in minutes. He was knowledgeable, funny and got the kids interested with his stories, pointing out snakes and different bird calls and getting them to eat all kinds of foliage! We even helped my niece get some relief from a wasp sting by chewing up leaves and using them as nature's Tylenol! Each kid said that the hike was their favorite activity...and that it even was better rafting! I cannot say enough good things about our hike...ask for Paul when you sign up--you will have a great day!

Worth the extra cost to get a tailored experience - Chris was an excellent knowledgeable guide who perfectly tailored our private 5 hour hike/waterfall trip. He kept us from the crowds with a great early start, gave us space to enjoy our surroundings alone, didn’t rush anything, and has a great chill personality that was refreshing to be around. We will be requesting him again. The company was great to work with.

Chris was a fantastic guide - I booked a private tour with some custom requests, and AHT was able to accommodate everything I asked for. Our guide, Chris, was incredibly knowledgable about the fauna and flora of the area, and was also very friendly and easy to get along with. I really appreciated the way he made sure to include both me and my teen in discussions. Chris also made sure that we were very comfortable in terms of the risk of covid. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience, well worth every dollar, and I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed it!

Enthusiastic and knowledgable guide - We had a great day hiking with Bill. He is both enthusiastic and extremely knowledgable about the area and did a wonderful job creating an itinerary that worked for our private group of six that included family members aged 9 to 69. As an added bonus, during the busy spring break season, he took us to several beautiful spots where we were the only hikers on the trail. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to take a guided hike in Asheville.

A must book guide to explore the outdoors of Asheville! - It was my girlfriend and my first time together out and about in Asheville and she came across this hiking tour and had booked us a private guide! We received very clear instructions on where to meet from our guide Paul the day before at Crank coffee, which by the way has incredibly coffee! We drove about 40 minutes from downtown Asheville to meet with Paul at the coffee shop, which was no issue at all. He was extremely enthusiastic and had our day mapped out and explained the places we’d be traveling too and also gave us some background information about the area. The best part about it all, is that Paul tailored our day to whatever we wanted to see and did he deliver! We were big on wanting to see the blue ridge mountains and also a few waterfalls and we were able to hit 4-5 solid spots during our trip. Some places were easy drive up locations, but we also had some excellent hiking ventures where we were able to learn (and even taste!) about some of the plant life of the area. Paul was extremely knowledgeable and his personality blew everything away. This is not one of those tours where you feel like some random person is just talking off your ear, but you develop a very quick friendship, which makes the trip so much more enjoyable. Paul was awesome and took tons of pictures of us at each spot along the the way and was so easy going where we were cracking jokes the entire trip! It was an absolute blast and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore the outdoors the Asheville area has to offer! Ask for Paul, he was amazing! Paul, if you’re reading this, Daniella and Jeff (me) are huge fans and thank you again for the awesome guide tour!
