Memorable cruise to Bermuda on the Oceania Insignia 7/25 - I must admit, I will miss being addressed as "Madam" and "My Lady". All the crew from cabin stewards to dining room/buffet staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Never been treated with so much respect and courtesy, from making sure I had 2 chocolates on my bed each evening to removing the small round table in my cabin so I wouldn't walk into it during the night. My cabin was a larger double ( in it alone) with a huge window, roomy and comfortable. Food was incredible everywhere I ate. Loved that the ship is small since I have ambulatory issues. Only a few issues: 1) since I do have issues with my knees, I could not enjoy the pool. There are no steps into it. While I could slide in from the side, I could not get out using the ladders. 2) I would have preferred a chair and not a stool at the desk, since sitting on something without a back is difficult. 3) Allowing smoking in the corner of the pool deck (if I correctly remember) is still a danger to other passengers walking there. You can't contain cigar/cigarette smoke in an open area. It should be confined to the smoking lounge. 4) Even though the shower is barely large enough for turning around, it should have a grab bar. Obviously, my concerns are due to my age and ambulatory issues (except for the smoking) but given the average age I observed of the guests on board, these are valid concerns. Given that, cruising on the Oceania Insignia was a memorable, wonderful experience. PS: How often can you tell the waiter you want to order the filet mignon?
