iSimangaliso Wetland Park - iSimangaliso Wetland Park is a huge protected area along the coast of South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal Province. The park’s centrepiece is the vast Lake St. Lucia, home to large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, pelicans and flamingos. At Isimangaliso Wetland Park, we do a game drive where we see all the different types of animals. These include some of the big 5 also such as elephant, buffalo, giraffe, rhino, zebra, kudu and many more.

In the afternoon, have a never to be forgotten experience as you go on a croc and hippo boat cruise in the St Lucia Estuary.

On day 2, after breakfast, travel further north to Hluhluwe Imfolozi for a Game Drive in a 4 x 4 Game Drive vehicle.

Hluhluwe - iMfolozi Park Wilderness Area - Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, formerly Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, is the oldest proclaimed nature reserve in Africa. It consists of 960 km (96,000 ha) of hilly topography 280 kilometres (170 miles) north of Durban in central KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and is known for its rich wildlife and conservation efforts. Think again - Even though the game drive, accommodation in St Lucia and the driver from Durban to St Lucia were great, I'm rating this as a poor experience because 1) The car we were travelling for hours had no air-condition and there was only space for a hand luggage. The day of game drive was 30 degrees so travelling without air-condition was terrible. My luggage was at the back of the truck, in open air for hours. 2) The 2nd day there was a thunderstorm for hours. The car's heating/aircon/fan was not working and the driver could barely see from the blurry front glass. It was actually very dangerous to drive like this which makes me think that company doesn't really care about the safety both of the driver and customers. Regarding my luggage, the driver had to wrap it up in bin bags to protect from the heavy rain. In cases that there is bad weather forecast the company should give heads up or cancel the game drive.
