Private Adventure Tour in the Bahamas

Kheran was a great guide. He modified the tour to meet our desires while showing us sites we were not aware of to help us better understand Bahamian culture and history. He has a wealth of knowledge and was able to answer all our questions. He also did a great job at connecting emotionally with us so that we felt he cared about us having a really good experience and appreciating the Bahamian people and their unique culture. My only concern is that the vehicle provided to him had been in an accident so that the front seat belt didn't work which posed some risk to my wife who needed to sit up front so she could see (she is short). However Kheran is a very safe and courteous driver and we had no scary driving experiences.

The timely responses to emails, the well maintained van with AC, Cousin Marvin was knowledgeable about the island and the variety of our stops made the tour engaging. I will use Marvelous Tours again as well as recommend the company to others.

We showed up to our meeting location 45 minutes early to ensure we did not miss our tour, Dale the tour guide (Marvin's brother) was late by about 20 minutes. I had to engage international calling to make sure we did not miss him somehow which cost me $15. Marvin told us that Dale was there and did not see us. We were in plain site by the fountain and could not be missed as a family of 5 and not very many other people around at 8:45 in the morning. Our tour was to start at 9:00 (we got there at 8:15), but Dale did not arrive until 9:20 and had ALL kinds of excuses. Anyhow, we got in the very old van for the tour, and Dale was excellent at giving the details of the city and some historical facts. We arrived at the Fort and he expected us to pay to get in. I said no as that was part of the tour price. He paid after all as he knew I was upset with him being very late to begin with. When he dropped us off at Atlantis Resort to look around, we told him we only needed about 30 minutes as it did not look that appealing to us. We were done and back at our meeting spot where Dale told us to meet within 20 minutes. Dale took 45 minutes to get back to us. That means we waited 25 minutes for him total, but 15 minutes longer than the planned meeting time. We then moved on in our tour to the caves. I was thinking we would be spending quite a bit of time here to hike and explore, but all you do is go up a few steps to see the bats in the cave, and then take a couple pictures and leave. We were there maybe 10 minutes total. Dale was a great informational guide, but horrible about being on time, and we only got $20 compensation back even though I had to spend $15 to enact international service on my phone, so really it was a $5 credit back. Catch a taxi for a much smaller fee than $350 for a group of 5. I would not book with them again, especially if you are on a cruise ship as you may not get back on time.

We arrived and were met by our new cousin and is wonderful wife. They welcomed us like family and showed us around the island for the morning. We got an in depth history lesson which we loved. Thank you so much for the wonderful morning.

Thank you Marvin for a great day in Nassau. I have been to Nassau several times, but never though the eyes of a local with such knowledge and pride in the Bahamas. An outstanding and luxurious bus, accommodated 9 ladies very comfortably. Marvin's tour was well planned, historical, and he engaged our group during the tour 100%.
