A Magical Journey through Morocco: An Unforgettable 8-Day Adventure - An absolute trip of a lifetime! From the bustling streets of Casablanca to the serene beauty of the Sahara Desert, every moment of this journey was filled with culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes, led by our highly capable and personable private guide Hassan. We arrived in Casablanca, Hassan ready and waiting to greet us. After a nice lunch & an invigorating Hammam we visited the awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque, with its intricate architecture and seaside location. We then set off for the Rif Mountains for our night in Chefchaouen, the Blue City. Hassan was an excellent driver navigating the windy mountain roads & stopping for breaks whenever we asked. It was lovely to arrive at our hotel arrangements having already been made (and they were throughout this adventure) so that we could settle in for our 1st night's sleep. We woke up with a beautiful view of the Blue City. The city's blue-washed buildings created a surreal and enchanting atmosphere. Navigating the narrow, winding streets adorned with vibrant markets and local artisans was like stepping into a dream. Fez was our next stop! We arrived in the evening and had a fun time following our hotel guide through the narrow alleyways to the beautiful Riad we would call home for the next 2 nights. Fez, with its ancient medina, was a step back in time. The intricate architecture, centuries-old tanneries, and the vibrant souks showcased the rich history of Morocco. Our knowledgeable guide navigated us through the labyrinthine streets, offering insights into the cultural significance of each alley and landmark. Probably my most favorite experience was glamping in the Sahara Desert. It was a bit of a drive but the ride was quite fun and scenic and of course Hassan, our private guide knew all of the great spots to stop. Although we were planning to arrive to our check in to be able to view the iconic sunset over the dunes, we arrived at dusk and to my absolute DELIGHT we were still able to ride the camels to camp! It was BREATHTAKING to journey underneath the blanket of the Milky Way! The camel guide expertly led us through the desert dunes in the dark of night to camp. It was magical! Our night in a traditional Berber camp under the starlit desert sky was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The desert's vastness and silence were awe-inspiring, making it a spiritual and introspective part of the tour. From the desert we made our way through the windy roads to continue our stay in the Atlas mountains. Stopping to stay in unique riads along the way, with a memorable pit stop for a traditional Berber lunch at Hassan's family home. His mother prepared "Berber pizza" & lamb couscous while his dad made sure our cups were overflowing with mint tea. It was a treat to say the least. So thankful for their hospitality. The tour concluded in the vibrant city of Marrakech. The Jardin Majorelle, with its stunning blue gardens, the historic Bahia Palace, and the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, all offered a kaleidoscope of colors and culture. The energy of Marrakech, combined with the diverse street performances and the labyrinthine souks, made it a fitting end to an incredible journey. This 8-day tour of Morocco exceeded all expectations. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing for a perfect balance of exploration, relaxation, and cultural immersion. The accommodations were comfortable, the local cuisine was delectable, and the guides were knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the beauty of their country. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking an immersive and enriching experience in Morocco. It's a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural wonders, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
