Highlights

Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Meet your English-speaking guide in the lobby of your Beijing hotel at 8:00 AM. First, visit Tian’anmen Square to explore its monuments and learn about Chairman Mao’s impact on Chinese history. Next, tour the Forbidden City, the best-preserved ancient imperial palace in China, following the central axis from north to south for about 1.5 hours. On the way to the Temple of Heaven, stop by a silk museum to discover traditional silk culture.

Temple of Heaven - Enjoy lunch at an authentic restaurant (meal not included). Then, visit the magnificent Temple of Heaven, the largest ancient imperial worship site in the world, where Ming and Qing Emperors prayed for good harvests. Afterward, return to your hotel.

Mutianyu Great Wall day tour

Mutianyu Great Wall - On the second day, visit the Great Wall of China, a series of fortifications made of various materials. Enjoy a Chinese lunch at an authentic restaurant. Then, visit a Chinese Jade factory to learn about jade culture. Finally, return to your hotel.

Summer Palace and Hutong tour

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - On the third day, explore the stunning Summer Palace, the largest Chinese imperial garden. Visit a pearl gallery to learn about freshwater pearl culture.

Bell and Drum Towers - After lunch at a Chinese restaurant, embark on a Hutong tour starting from Shishahai near the vegetable and fruit market. Historically, these lanes and alleys connected the courtyard houses of princes, generals, and ministers outside the Forbidden City. The term “hutong” likely originated during the Yuan Dynasty (1270-1365) from the Mongolian word for “well,” as communities often formed around wells. Experience a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at a tea house before returning to your hotel.

Gubei water town day tour

Gubei Water Town - Begin your day tour of Gubei Water Town at 8:00 AM. Located 180 km from Beijing, this scenic area features a blend of mountains, water, and ancient villages. After exploring, return to your hotel.

Friendly and well versed tour guide - I had an amazing 4 days tour with Terry where we visited the main tourist attraction in beijing. He also accommodated our request and took us to have very tasty food of their local cuisine. Peking duck is the must thing to try and Terry knows just the place to take you for it. Since we were landing pass midnight he sent a reliable driver to pick us up from the airport. Terry is very friendly and he keeps up a good timing sense.
