The first stop will be the Pristina National Library, completed in 1982 when Kosovo was part of Yugoslavia. The library houses valuable books and documents, some dating back to the 15th century. Interestingly, it is often ranked among the ugliest architectural structures in Europe. During the walk, attention will be given to the statue of Mother Teresa, who is highly esteemed in Kosovo due to her Albanian heritage. The main pedestrian boulevard of the city will be explored, allowing enjoyment of the vibrant spirit of its center. -
Prizren - After an additional hour and a half drive, the historical capital of Kosovo, Prizren, will be reached. The town, surrounded by mountains, is stunningly beautiful. Here, the history of Kosovo’s origins and the ideas behind it, supported by the Great Albania plan, will be explored. Monuments from the Ottoman Empire period will be visited.
The first stop during the walking tour of Prizren will be Mehmet Pasha Hamam, constructed in the 16th century. The next site to visit is The Sinan Pasha Mosque, built at the start of the 17th century. The charming souvenir shops surrounding the mosque will also be explored.
The next point of interest will be the fortress located high above the city, offering breathtaking views. On the way to the fortress, the 15th-century Stone Bridge will be crossed. The fort preserves the memory of long-lost cultures and peoples.
After exploring, the journey back to Skopje will be taken through very beautiful and scenic roads.
