Our bear-watching day tour in the western tatras is a favourite among visitors. Observing the brown bear in its natural habitat presents a thrilling experience.
The High Tatras are filled with spots where these bears can be sighted. However, only through us and our knowledgeable guides can you safely venture into their realm!
Once we’ve fetched you from your hotel, we direct you to our start point or meet you there. Be prepared for a walk through the scenic valley. The hike covers a roundtrip of 7km each way into and out of the valley.
Today’s adventure involves visiting bear sites, observing them from a cautious distance. The shortest we’ve been from a brown bear in the Tatra mountains of Slovakia was approximately 100 meters.
The Tatra mountains house over 400 brown bears, with a steady increase in population observed. In fact, there are nearly 1000 brown bears residing in Slovakia.

I saw a bear in the wild for the first time. - A very beautiful day spent in the Tatras. Erik is a guide with lot of experience, you feel safe with him even when you go to watch bears and learn a lot of new things about them. We saw a bear, it was a really big male, and besides him, we saw a herd of deer and alone mountain goat. We were in the stony valley for the first time and it is a really beautiful valley worth to seeing. I recommend trying this excursion. One more time thank you Erik for nice experience.

Big bear male eating blueberries - The bearwatching experience with Erik was amazing. Very professional and it definitely exceeded my expectations. During the hike through one of Tatra’s valleys, we saw one large male bear having its breakfast (blueberries). Most importantly, we learned interesting facts about the bears. I was leaving the bearwatching hike with a better understanding of how to behave in the mountains so as not to have an unpleasant meeting with a bear, but also how to behave if I want to observe this majestic animal safely in its kingdom. Thank you, Eric for this experience.

On the trail of Master Petz - A breathtaking experience in the beautiful nature of the Slovakian Carpathians.
Not only were bears discovered, but also lots of wild animals and mountain goats.
Erik, the tour guide, has excellent equipment and an almost endless amount of specialist knowledge about the flora and fauna of the High Tatras. All questions were answered and many myths and untruths about these magnificent animals were cleared up.
This tour is an absolute gem for nature lovers.

Bears in wildlife in the Slovak Republic. - Erik is an excellent guide who showed us the best trails and gave us the chance to spot bears in wildlife. His tour has just been great and will remain as a unique experience in watching wild animals in real nature. Thanks a lot Erik.

Wonderful experience - This was a great experience. Robin showed us traces of animals, marks of bears (especially on trees). We enjoyed the hiking, and we could see as much as 4 bears and 2 cubs. Additionally, Robin sent us a short video of the bears we have seen.

Absolute highlight in the Tatra Mountains! - The bear tour with Erik was uniquely beautiful. The hike is very beautiful and can be done by anyone. Erik gives you a lot of interesting information about the bears of the Tatra Mountains and nature. The absolute highlight is of course the bears! On our day we saw a total of 5 bears. Erik gives everyone enough time to discover and observe the bears.
We can highly recommend the tour.

Amazing adventure! :) - It was beautiful hike! Our guide Erik is incredible. He was funny, nice and opened to our questions. It isnt only business, It is passion. We saw 8 bears and it was great experience. Erik told me how to find some bear in his natural habitat and I appreciate it. Good luck :)

Unique experience - The trip was unique. The nature was beautiful! The guide had a lot of information to share. I can recommend this trip to everyone. You should be a little fit though. The route is not entirely easy.
